  1. I tried to introduce an inline microphone to one of my cameras. Full HD SDI camera followed all the instructions but have run in to problems. The camera was fitted due to anti social behaviour by a neighbour.I have RG59 cable and was under the impression that an extra cable would have to be run to the camera therefore a 20m phono to phono cable was brought in to the equation. Is there something missing here. I connected everything up including attaching the phono cable to the audio connection on the back of the hybrid DVR but still no luck. Can anyone throw any light on what I am doing wrong. Many thanks

    Inline Microphone problems

I am trying to use the inline microphone with power taken from the camera which is wired up with RG59 cable. A separate 20m phono to phono cable was introduced to transmit the audio back to the DVR . The audio cable is as follows http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OA9YCAQ?ref_=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1

Does SDI camera could connect AHD DVR?

Don't think so . If you have a HD SDI camera then you will have to link it up to a new digital recorder. You can of course buy a hybrid DVR which will take both analogue and digital cameras.

    Inline Microphone problems

Found out the spec by doing a bit of research. Frequency range is 200-10khz and the output impedance is 600 ohms.

    Inline Microphone problems

It's powered inline through the camera. A phono cable was introduced to take the audio back to the Audio input of the DVR. Not sure if a specification sheet was included in the post.
  6. I don't have plug and play cables . The whole system was rewired with RG59. All the exterior connections are housed in waterproof box . Do you reckon it's just down to a poor connection?
  7. I have a 4 camera system linked to a hybrid DVR. 3 cameras are full HD SDI. The 4th camera which I am loath to replace as it gave good night vision coverage was rewired with RG59 and moved to another position. I now find that the LEDS no longer work and wondered what can be the issue. It was previously fitted with a 20m plug and play type cable but it was fitted a distance of 25 metres therefore it was rewired to bring it up to date. Can anyone throw any light on the problem.....sorry for the pun. The system is powered up from a 12v 10amp supply.

    DVR Issues

Not sure as to why you are getting issues with the image sizes. Regarding the power supply I have a 12v 10amp power supply to power up 4 night vision cameras all with IR leds. I am also introducing a IR illuminator. Some cameras can be power hungry at night and require up to 2 amps each. I would increase the size of the power output to see if this makes any difference.
  9. I have a hybrid 4 channel dvr linked up to 4 cameras. I had up until lately 2 HD SDI cameras and 1 analogue camera on the system. All are full night vision cameras all with Infrared LEDs. I have just put a 4th camera on to the system which is also HD SDI. The cameras are all powered by a 10 amp 12v adapter to make sure they all have sufficient power. The analogue camera was moved to another spot and was rewired using RG59 shotgun cable. Since then it refuses to switch on its IR leds despite it having no problems before. The reason I kept it in the system was specifically because it was good at night looking in to an 18 metre long back garden. I'm at odds as to why it has decided to stop working. I changed the power adapter from 6 amps up to 10 amps but it still refuses to work. I have also tried unplugging the 3 latest cameras to see if the others were draining the power but still no luck. Anyone any idea as to what it could be. Would a 2 way power splitter at the camera running to a separate IR illuminator solve the problem ?
  10. I decided to overhaul my 3 camera analogue system, replacing 2 cameras with full HD SDI cameras and a new hybrid DVR to accommodate the 3rd analogue camera. Replaced one old camera with new dome no problems at all and surprised to see that the new camera works with the old DVR. Problem with 2nd camera connection though. Its a high spec 12/24 volt camera which comes with not a bullet power connector but a screw in type connection requiring the power feed to be split in to 2. Sorry if this is a bit complex but can I cut off the dc supply bullet connection. Stip back the wires (centre positive, outside sheeth negative ) then feed them in to connection and end up with a picture. Naturally there is a 2nd bnc connector for the video feed.

    Camera Connection issues

New Hybrid dvr hitched up , 2 cameras (1 analogue + 1 HD SDI ) but still problem exists with the camera as shown in picture. Been told by supplier that rg58 cable is sufficient but wondering if I will have to rewire this camera with something else. Is there something I am missing out of the equation ?
