    Just realized the age of the original post....I work for Cisco and am plagued with A.D.D. Sometimes, I just need to relax and pay a bit more attention before reacting.... Sorry....

    I would suggest you google on "power injector" and 802.3AF. This will get you an industry standard PowerOverEthernet device that goes inline (between any router and your camera). This'll provide you more flexibility on your router choices.. Schwazche

    If you're using VNC, as many of us are, please ensure that you're running 4.1.2 or higher as noted in articles like this one... Oops... I can't post URLs yet. Google on "vnc security alert" hackersblog is one of many outlining the issues.
