How is the camera connected to power? Sounds like its not getting enough amps to keep those IRs on. Might want to try to plug the power into a sockets thats on a different breaker with no power consumption on it to test if its a power issue.

Have you tried changing port 554 to say 2300. try that, restart software and dvr and try again.

I don't think there is, looks like the minimum is 5 seconds in the settings.

You would not put the Static IP in the DVR/NVR. You would pu the static ip in your router. Do you have a separate modem and a separate router? Please let us know the models numbers of each.

BTW I took the screen shot On given distance and FOV u can forget about capturing plate Lol, i was about to say the same thing ak357, impossible to capture those plates at that distance. If you want to capture at that distance, you would need a gigapixel camera at that distance lol. Your best option is to have a camera with a lens not less than 3MP 32mm lens and preferable mounted close to eye level with the plates, or just buy you a PTZ and and keep it zoomed in the position were you see licenses plates, preferable a 30X 2MP PTZ or a LPR PTZ.

After the shot has already been recorded? Take a screenshot and post it. Most likely you won't be able to tell the car tag nor the color if that camera is not tailored to pick up tags. If you just have the IRs on at night and hope that you will see the tags, most likely you won't, the IRs will bounce right off of the tag and all you will see is a bright spot. What kind of camera do you have. Some cameras you will have to tailor just o read tags on cars and if its a very dark area, you will only see the tags and not the color of the car. The best way is to get a LPR IP Camera. Look on youtube for LPR Cameras and see there videos and see if thats what you are meaning.

What do you mean ?? I have one DVR woth 4 cctv cameras and 2 IP wireless cameras. Sorry, I meant what is the Brand Name of the DVR and the IP Cameras.

What he means is, before you plug the 3rd party camera in the NVR POE, make sure the cameras IP Address is on the same IP Scheme of the NVR POE IPs. Ex. if the other poe cameras that are in the NVR have a 192.168.254.x , make sure the 3rd party camera is 192.168.254.x , and not 192.168.1.x. (x= any IP Address, just make sure another port does not have that IP in use already). Make sure you go into the camera first and change its IP Address before you plug it into the NVR Ports If you got into your NVRs Camera management under configurations, you will see the IPs of all the POE Ports.

After you have plugged in the camera to the NVR POE Port, do you have it set on manually or plug n play . If manually, make sure you have the right protocol selected, try onvif protocol. When the camera is plugged into the NVR, do you see lights the port lights ON. Also what FW Version do you have on the NVR.

I have installed many of the 7716NI NVRs and they are really great. You can add or remove HDD whenever you want, you can put up to (4) 4TB HDD in at once. I have not messed with SWANN NVRs but i know they use Hikvision cameras.

It depends. In some switches it will only allow you to pull one camera feed and sometimes it won't let you pull any camera feed unless its a managed switch and you open up 2-way traffic. But i would not put in the UP_LINK port, its really no difference in that nor in a regular port, speed wise.

Wow, looks great. I think this is what I'm looking for. We just put up 35 of these at a casino, so they are reliable. I have not had any issues with them. Your best be is to put it next to the main NVR, attach it to the switch, and on long runs to the monitors, get you some HDMI over Cat5 and run them to the monitors.

You would really have to make sure there is a built in heater and blower. I have installed lots of motorized verifocal cameras in Canada, the last project i was on was on Norway House, MB. It gets Really cold there. If i was you, i would go with Pro Series Hikvision cameras. Just make sure they have built in heater and fan.

It is fine to plug your NVR into a POE switch, switches "usually" do not give a device power unless it asks for it(a smart switch). So you should not have any issues, if it makes you feel better, just disable the POE in the Web Interface. Also make sure that switch is sized accordingly to the amount of power the cameras will drawl. Not sure what the max wattage that switch is rated to.

You can even eliminate that switch and get a NVR that has POE ports on the back. Get an 8CH NVR with POE and plug directly into it. Hikvision is really great, i like there NVRs, simply and fast to setup and install. There cameras are great also. Like a DS-7608NI-SE/8P. You can dedicate individual ports to any IP of the camera, for the wireless cameras, you would assign that port using the cameras IP address. Honestly i would through out that second router too, unless you want to keep it and set it up as an AP for your wifi cameras so your main router will not have to much traffic in it.

After you add your NAS, you would go into HDD Management and select the NAS HDD and change the property to Redundancy. Also i am not sure about how many streams you can get the camera out to. But i know i have tried up to 4-5 and no issue. Also it depends on your network, what kind of switches do you have in between your NVRS. The resolution does not really counteract with the bandwidth, your Bitrate is you bandwidth. Why are you using different NVRs? So you can view the cameras on multiply monitors? If so, i would take them out and buy a 4CH Decoder and then you will be able to attach up to 4 monitors and display out HD streams, and if you want to add more than 4 monitors, you can buy a 8CH Decoder. They come in 1CH/4CH/8CH. Instead of relying on the camera to give out all these streams and have issues down the road, I would definitely go with a decoder to decode the streams out to multiply monitors.
