    HIK Vision/ Dahua / Qihan

Well i have been dealing with HikVision for a while. we just got together with Dahua to see their products and they all have good products. I just received the new HD TVI and HD SDI cameras are really good. The new recorder that supports these cameras will also give you the ability to attach IP, Analog, SDI, TVI cameras to one recorder. It is not out on the market yet but will be soon
  2. are you looking to purchase one or freebie
  3. Thats weird, something in the boot up went wrong. Your best bet is to reload the firmware through TFTP software. What is the full Product Model that you have. If you don't know it should have a sticker on the device telling you the full model number. Also try to boot with the hard drive unplugged just to see.
  4. how are they going to be viewing them?

CAT5E or RG59 for future upgrade

For the PTZ you would need RG59 with 18/2 Power and 24/2 Data. If your PTZ is Analog , If it is IP, than you would just need a CAT5E cable.

CAT5E or RG59 for future upgrade

Well if you are wanting to upgrade from Analogue to IP system, i would deff run Cat5E but you also can just run RG59 and in the future you can get RG59 to Cat5 transmitters and receivers and still use the RG59. Also you can just run the CAT5E cable and use video baluns. How long are your runs?

    Windows 8

I would recommend using Chrome, but manually download the active X from here http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=944 also if you are still having issues i can TeamViewer in and take a look if you would like, just send me a message

    NVR

Yes you will be able to view the cameras on a switch, just make sure you manually enter the camera ip address in your camera settings in the NVRe and change ports to Manual instead of Plug and Play. Not really sure what you are asking, but POE does not go through the LAN on the back of the NVR.
  11. What email address are you trying to use, Yahoo has been giving me trouble but got Gmail to work
  12. abdelm01

    NVR

    1. Yes you can connect a switch to an NVR without having any kind of broadband. 2. Yes HikVision does support 3rd Party Cameras. The Picture below shows you what cameras they support.
  13. Go to HikVision site first and fill out that information then it will give you the info you will need to input into your NVR Your Device name is whatever you want to call it Serial number would be found under Device Information, just copy and past HTTP Port that you have assigned to your NVR After said and done, when configuring your App make sure you inout the DDNS that you have created using the Domain in the Registered Mode
  14. Lets hope so, unless they want there IP Address to keep changing when an outage occurs and spend days trying figuring out why they can't see their cameras anymore.
  15. No you wouldn't use it for the DNS Server. You really don't have to have the DNS Server part filled. Do you have your Static IP of your internet, if not than you can go to myipaddress.com and use that in your ivmx app on your smart phone. and where it says port in the phone app, makes sure you are using your SDK Port number
  16. Also HIK DDNS works very well do not need static IP They said they could not get the DDNS site to work, so in that case you will have to use your static IP until the Site starts working again to register
  17. The (W) stands for it being Wireless Compatible. Also one is sold in Europe and one sold in the United States. MultiLanguage ones are usually the world wide ones like in Europe.

About the cctv camera hard drive

Seagate SV35 is your best bet, i would go with at least a 2TB HDD.
  19. Well first if the Camera are plugged into the NVR, you will not be able to discover them outside the NVR. Also i would go into the NVR and change the RTSP Port to at least 2200, and make sure you change it in the Router also. If you have all ports pointing to the right IP address of the NVR then you shouldn't have any issues. Make sure you have the right static IP and make sure you are port forwarding in the right tabs in your router. Also you would add the NVR to 4200 software and not the single cameras in your case. If you are still needing help i can TeamViewer in and help you set it up.

    installation without NVR

iVMS-4200 is used for HikVision cameras and few more not sure if it will work with Samsung. But Samsung uses SmartViewer for there CCTV.

    Windows 8

You must be missing some plug-ins, and/or not giving access to the plug-ins. What type of cameras are you trying to view? Also try a different web browsers; firewall/security settings can stop you from viewing some CCTV cameras through web browsers FYI , i would disable all firewalls and security applications.

    3G Router

Verizon 4G/LTE Router works great, i use that when doing remote installs at casinos whenever they don't have an outside internet and works great, haven't had any issues yet.
  23. It all depends on the Camera and/or Switch, if you have a switch that can Only hand up to 40W output to cameras and you have 4 cameras and each camera requires 9W each and you have all 4 Cameras on that would be limit, but whenever the IR cut on at night, it will request more watts and if all 4 kick there IR's on at the same time then you will have issues. Check the compatibility of the switch and add up all you camera watts and if you have at least 10watts extra after all cameras are installed than you should be good but if not, i would put half of the cameras on injectors but i doubt you will have any issues with 4 Cameras on a POE Switch these days, unless you go REALLY CHEAP!!

    installation without NVR

Yes it is possible, If you have a Server, you can install iVMS-PC_NVR on it and it acts like a NVR. You can recorded locally on the Server or to a NAS etc. All you would need to do is get a switch, preferable POE so you don't have to send local power to every camera and import the cameras through PCNVR and you are good to go.
