Fitted a new higher TVL camera to my system today but its doing something strange, across the bottom of the screen there is a band where it flicks through all the other cameras really fast & wont stop Ive pluged the camera straight into a TV & it dosnet do it so im guessing there is something the DVR dosnt like, its a cables system with BNC connectors Any suggestions? Pic below but obviously this dosent show it flicking

Well unfortunately the Sun didn't re-appear for me to test Although when I was messing with the Focus this evening the reflection from the LED's on my hands etc caused it to black out, seems it doesn't like bright light, is that the camera knackered?

They are Vantage Dome Camera VSCM520IR The old Bullet camera I put up in its place was fine for 3 hours but had condensation in it so have swapped the lens in the Dome Camera with another faulty unit I had but had the same problem when I was putting it up It seems to be when the sunlight shines onto the camera it whites out although I am just waiting for some sunlight to re-appear to test this theory

Yeah the camera was flickering on & off through the night as well Is this not the camera shot then?? (I'm hoping the Cameras OK)

Swapped the channels around & it seemed to do the same no matter what channel it was on Not sure where to start with Central Core & Ground???

I have tried 3 different power adaptors of different Amp outputs & they all do the same I took the camera down & tested it inside the house & it seemed to work fine then when I put it back up it stared to do the same again I have also by-passed the power lead that runs along side the cable (RG59-2 iirc) & powdered directly to the camera with a very short lead & again it did the same I have now put a different camera up & it seems OK so far so could be the camera (dome type) but I was hoping it wasn't! lol The camera is in direct sunlight, could this have caused a problem with the lens??

Hi All Looking for a little help, my camera's seem to be having no stop problems Last night my front camera goes into what seems like night mode for no reason?? Then this morning the screen is all white?? then goes Black?? Currently it is flickering between working fine & all black Could this be a wiring issue?? I have disconnected the power a few times & it seems to work OK after that but the problems return This is a new Camera as the first one I had the LED's were not working on the night mode Please help

I've got a 3.42 amp laptop power cord on standby to try once it gets dark, would this run the camera's OK? If it goes well I shall get on one on order

So a update: Took the front camera down to have a closer look, plugged into a 3" power cord & covered the lenses with cupped hands & again only half the LED's light up but even they only light up faintly Had another broken camera in the house (broken housing) & tried the same test & all the LED's light up much brighter so looks like it was a faulty camera Going to put the working camera in the working casing & try again tonight, fingers crossed Appreciate all the help every one

I cleaned the domes on the ones with reflection & that was a huge improvement The main one of concern now is the front one, they are all run from the same power pack & the other 3 light up all the way around but the front one only lights up half way round (red LEDs) the front one is the first photo above

The cameras I have do have IR lights all around the edge of the lens, the image was just to show the style more than anything, I've been told the cameras are not good & I should try some Swann ones?? Im stumped as to why half the leds would not be working??

Ive had a look this evening as it was getting dark & Camera 1 (1st photo) only half the LED's are lighting up in the dark, down one side of the Camera the LED's don't seem to be lit red at all could this be the problem?? What would be causing this? Cameras are Vantage Spartan Dome

What kind of Amp's output should I be looking for?? Am I OK running all 4 off the one power supply?

What is the amperage of the 12V power supply and how far all of your cable runs? 1500ma I think, the furthest is maybe 20mtrs using RG59 cable & that's front one (1st photo) The cable runs the full length & width of my 4 bedroom house if that helps at all??
