    timeouts in geovision webcam

I have a client who would like to have the remote view constantly running on a laptop at home. After a while she is disconnected and gets a no privilege error. Is this a timeout and can it be changed / is there a better way?

    wirless ptz keyboard

I have installed a vista powerdome ptz camera at a house with the controller in the garage. I have used modulators to allow the video to be displayed on all tv's in the house. Is there a wirless ptz controller which would allow my client to control the ptz camera from around his home instead of in the garage? TIA
  4. For a disc you'll need to contact your distributor. The different elements of software can be downloaded from www.geovision.com.tw
  5. I am having problems with one of my geovision systems crashing. The system is a gv650-8. With the 8 channel dsp card and 5 cameras. The PC is a P4 3.0 with intel chipset and 512mb Every couple of days the system will crash. No erors in the geo log but if you check in the xp event log there are errors pointing to lsass.exe and avifil32.dll When the system is restarted the desktop lock will not function and i have to do a system restore to get the thing working. The standard xp desktop is displayed but with a black background. Shut down is missing from the start menu so i have tom power off. When is comes back on it is usually ok for a while. Any suggestions?
  6. Do you mean not use the desktop lock utility at all? Or load it in a diferent way

  10. Hi guys Having massive problems with using additional screens on a geo system. I have 1 local screen and 2 remote screens. Of the remote screens 1 is 10m away and the other 20m away. Al screens are 17" Xerox TFT screens. I am trying to duplicate the output from the vga card onto all screens at 1280*1024 res. I have tried using cat5 extenders but poor quality image and flcikers. Also intemittently interfered with phone. I then tried a 1 - 5 vga amp and ditributor. Again very poor image, bought some very expensive vga cables and no improvement. What can i try next. Is my only way to get the DSP card and buy new screens with composite in??? All help greatly appreciated.

    Time For PDA

The Ipaq 6340 has a built in phone. You can put any sim card in. I can connect up to my geovision systems using either the wireless lan connection or using the gprs on the sim card. Battery doesn't last too long though
  12. Does anybody know of any high profile installations where geovision is used. Just a couple of names to drop in during sales meetings.

    modulators

Is it possible to use a modulator plugged into an aerial socket? I usually put them in the loft and have the aerial in and out but i have heard it is possible to put the modulator anywhere on the aerial loop. So this got me thinking can i use the wall socket which is in just the right place somehow????

    modulators

Yes, i was wondering if it was possible to use the modulator, which i'd normally put up in the loft, in the wall socket which the tv aerial to the telly goes in. Therfore saving me runnning cables up to the loft.

    Power Button

You could pull the power switch jumper connector off the motherboard. Wouldn't stop people pulling out the power cord though
  21. Can someone give me some tips on enabling remote access to an octar system. Cheers

    More Geo multi screen help!

I am installing a Geo system in a house with 2 cameras attached. I would like to allow the owner to view the cameras on his TV screens using a modulator. Here are my options i think 1. use the output from the video out of the vga card on the computer and link to a rf modulator to display the view from the geo system on the tv in the house. 2. can you get an rf modulator with two inputs? If possible bypass the geo system and use a t connector to allow the video signal to go to the modulator and then the tvs 3. use 2 modulators!! Casn this be done 4. use a cheap colur quad and a rf modulator. Any thoughts

    DSL and Router

The other computers which you want to share the connection need to have an ip addess in the same range as the routers local ip address, ie the first three numbers the same and a different last number. Then they need to have the default gateway set to be the ip address of the router. Its usually easier to set up dhcp on the router then set all connecting pc to us a dynamic ip address which it will then get from the router. The pc will also need the dns server addresses from your isp.
