Standalone DVR with motion masking ?

If you don't mind spending the money, I would recommend Dedicated Mircos. You can definitly get them from a distributor in the US or the UK and their support is great!

    Nuvico NVJV-8000 or EverFocus EDSR900

Hands Down, Nuvico. Better over the internet. Can be used with a Dynamic IP address. The 15fps is over kill for what you are doing. The Nuvico will give you 7.5fps which is more than enough and because it records in MJPEG you get a superior image on recording. I like the everfocus as well, but if you are giving me a choice I would chose the Nuvico. Phil

    DVR NUVICO NVDV3-4000

Changing a hard drive in a Nuvico DVR is easy. Open the case. There are two hdd bays. simply install the hd into one of these bays and plug in the cables supplied by nuvico in the dvr. the new hard drive should be set to either slave or cable select. turn the dvr on and go to the system menu. format both hdd's. you will lose all the video on the original hdd but you will now have more storage space. Hope that helps. Phil

CPCam CPD 560 or AVC 760 and Auto Pan

What is the model number of the camera that you are using. The reason I ask is that I know AVTech, CPCam, Cop and the like have had problems with the auto pan on their PTZs. They have corrected the problem now and you may be able to return yours for a replacement.

    Back Focus Question

Chances are you are not using an IR self corrective lens. Fujinon makes them for basically the same price as a non self corrective lenses.
  6. Your coax may also be run near high voltage power lines or a florescent light. GIT100 from Pelco will slove this problem. PM me for any additional info.
