Yes I did end up setting it up to keep 10 days worth of video.

I decided to delete some old files from my Q-see system to hopefully free up some disk space. So I set the system up to only keep 10 days of files. After I did this I looked at the system to see what files were on there and able to replay, 10 days are still on there. So then I went and looked to see what amount of disk space I got back and from what the system is showing me, it didn't report back anything. I also rebooted the system to see if it would read differently, no change. So how do I get my disk space back?

About once a day I hear a single beep from my QSee system. I looked at everything I can possibly see to figure out what it is and I can't find anything. Does anyone know what this single beep could mean?

Currently I am running the system as it came out of the box. Mostly because I haven't had much time to fiddle with it yet. I do have a 1TB drive in the system.

So now that I have my system up and running I am wondering how most people record. Do most folks record based upon a motion triggering the camera or just let it roll recording 24x7? I'm sure a 24x7 recording would eat up HD space pretty quickly. I have a Q-see 804 system with 4 cameras.

I can use the username and password to log into the Q-see system itself directly so the credentials must be right. I've tried IE and Chrome. Both have the same issue. I guess I'll call Q-see support tomorrow.

I'm on my "local" network, inside my house. I haven't done anything other than setup an admin account. Bad assumption was that if I can get to the log in page, I should be able to log in. Also bad assumption, if I get an invalid password reply back it would seem that it's trying to log me in. I looked at my router, port forwarding, it shows that there is already a forward for the qsee IP and port 85. 192.168.1.10:85 HTTP TCP Any -> 85 All Broadband Devices Active

Just installed a new qsee QC408 and I can login locally with admin and the new account I setup under the admin group but when I connect to the system via my PC and the ipaddress:85 for HTTP, when I type in the username and password, it tells me invalid password. Anyone know what's going on? I get the Qsee web service page but it won't take my username and password.

Is there any place that shows systems reviews? For the last day and a half I've been looking thru the forum to see what system I might go with but I really can't find anything on certain ones. Here is a system I was looking at but I'm not sure if it's a decent home system or not. This seems like a good deal especially since it has 16 cameras and I really don't need that many. The price seems pretty darn good as well. Q-See’s QC3016-12H4-1 - BJ's wholesale club has it on sale for $449.99. Is this a decent starter system with decent cameras? One question is with a system like this, would one need to have a electrical outlet by the cameras to power them?

I'm in the market for a security camera system for the house, outside. I like the looks of the dome cameras as they seem to look better on the outside of a house plus seem a bit more concealed. One system I saw was the Night Owl B-PE45-4DM7. It is a 4 camera system with the dome cameras. One thing I am not sure on is that the cameras only have a 40 degree angle of view. Initially the cameras will be mostly on the front of the house, driveway, front door, and one somewhere else. I am trying to determine what a 40 degree view looks like and whether or not I should consider a system without the dome cameras. So any insight on the cameras would be helpful. Trying to keep my initial cost for the system close to $500.
