The box is 1U in height. We are currently doing only the DB15 version. the DB15 card out sells the DVI massively over here in the UK. We will be adapting the unit to have 4 RCA connectors for the Audio on GV600 > GV800 cards We will create an Audio version as well for the 16 channel input of Combo cards. I will get an idea on pricing of the unit for you.

What is the distance from POS to GeoVision system. There is a limit on the distance you can run an RS232 signal.
-
The driver is on the GeoVision CD, It should show up in device manager under Ports as Prolific USB...

The only way I know to copy them is to Export the host under the Hosts screen, and Import the file into the next Hosts screen

In MultiView you can create a Multiple Host server to connect to. Click on Edit Host Click on New Host Click on Multiple Host Give the "Site" a Host Name Click Edit next to each camera and add in the details. OR Arrange the View you want. Click on Save Camera to Multiple Host

VMD on Control Centre, allows you to have a window open that will only show cameras when there is movement (motion) on them. This can be very useful for Security guards on a large site. With Control Centre, the most popular way of viewing is Matrix view. 1. Add your Hosts to the Control Centre software. 2. Create a Group, name it something descriptive like All Cameras 3. Drag all the cameras from your hosts to the All Cameras group 4. Right Click on the All Cameras group and click on Matrix This will give you up to 64 cameras live on the screen. You can create many different groups by repeating steps 2 - 3. You can create a group for all fire doors etc. It makes it very easy to navigate around a large site.

This is basically what I recommended, but this opens up ActiveX for all sited you visit. I would recommend adding it to the Trusted Sites, and changing the ActiveX setting for that group alone.
-
Disable any AntiVirus or Firewall Security applications while you try and connect. Add the site to the Trusted Sites group in Internet Explorer, and make sure that Trusted Sites is set to Low security.

CenterV2 will be OK for you if you just want to see whats going on at any particular moment. If however you want to interact with the systems, and playback footage etc. then I would recommend using Control Centre at the main location. I think CenterV2 is a great application for a monitoring station, but for daily monitoring, I believe Control Center is the software you need.

Under Camera / Audio Install do you have Rec Audio ticked? Make sure that you have the sensitivity set low enough.
-
You can click on the camera number drop down box, and select the Audio Channel that you want to listen to. You should then see the events listed. Make sure that you have the View Log set to Real Time mode and not Frame by Frame. You can do this by clicking on the bottom right icon, and selecting Real Time.

As soon as I find out when they are available I shall post back. Which versions would you guys find most useful? 1. Basic Version as described by the data sheet 2. UTP Version - We would need to know which baluns you use to get pins right 3. Ground Loop Isolation Version 4. Surge Protection Version Do most of you guys rackmount your kit, or would you wallmount the unit? Thanks for the info.
-
We are looking into doing a UTP / BNC version. Great to hear the feedback from you guys. We are thinking of shipping 2 x 1.5 metre DB15 cables to run from the GV DVR to the Distribution Box. Should this be sufficient for most installations?

Like I said, we have had no problems with the domes. There may have been a change to the 7625, which needs a change in the GeoVision protocol setup. I'll have a look into this for you.

Good to hear it That was on a system running at the following: 3 PTZ cameras on a preset tour 13 static cameras (mostly Internal) Resolution 640x480 De Interlace Rec Quality 5 It all really depends on how much of the camera image changes with movement, and how much movement there is.
-
Thats good to hear.
-
How busy is the site? Will there be lots of motion on the cameras recording around the clock. We have a 16 channel GV1480 here set to GeoMpeg4 ASP, with 3 PTZ cameras (on tour). It records around the clock and uses anywhere between 6 and 8 TB for 30 days. It completely depends on how much movement there is on the cameras.

I agree that there should be a Blackberry client, as I get requests all the time. I think that there should be an Iphone client as well, as many people are buying them. There should also be a Mac client webpage.

I have had similar experiences with people joining the GV system to a domain, and then having issues with Group Policies.
-
What DVR software are you using?
-
I do not know of any known issue, as we have used many of those cameras with our GeoVision systems. What fears do you have?
