No the remotes are hard coded.
-
You can get different channels of the remote controls A / B / C / D, You can use channel A for system 1 and channel B for system 2. You would then have 2 remote controls working independent of each other, one for either system.

This will only work if the "Allow Removing Password System" tickbox was checked under Password Setup

GV-net PTZ question & Geovision card type question
ezCCTV replied to highspeedphysics's topic in Geovision
Just to add my 2 pence worth (or cents!) All cameras must be running the same protocol (e.g. Pelco D @ 2400bps) if they are to share the same RS-485 output. I imagine they will all be the same camera, so 501 is correct, but just in case they are not you may want to bear the above in mind. -
Hey all I'm Sam, a complete noob when it comes to CCTV :(
ezCCTV replied to HighRisk's topic in System Design
Are you going to have the cameras inside pointing out through a window? I only say this as this is what it sounds like from your post. If you do this then you will get reflections from the window back into the lens, especially if the cameras are Infrared cameras. -
You can have multiple GV-NET cards on one system, with the new one now connecting through USB. You could use a GV-COM, but is is tidier to use a GV-NET if you have the space inside your case. When dealing with RS-485 devices you need a separate GV-NET (or COM) for each Protocol used. If I have misunderstood your questions, please post more info.

When we saw the similar problem, all we did was uninstall the software, delete the installation folder, reinstall the drivers and proceed with a "fresh" install. This procedure resolved the errors we were encountering.
-
Did you upgrade to 8.12 from a previous version of software? I have seen it in the past when upgrading from earlier options causes problems with DSP output of Combo cards. Please uninstall any GeoVision installtion you have and do a fresh install (including Drivers) from the 8.12 GeoVision DVD

newbie question about video noise
ezCCTV replied to adamk's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Just to mention, when you are using the digital zoom on your PTZ, you will get a much worse image, then when using purely optical zoom (pixelation etc.) -
Some information you need to find out 1. What is the pinout of the RJ45 connection that goes to the printer? This will be a serial connection, but using an RJ45 plug rather than a 9 Pin D Type 2. You will need to create a cable that takes the transmit and receive signal to a 9 Pin D Type connector and plug into the GV Data Capture. Pin 2 RX Pin 3 TX The only difference between a GV Data Capture V3 and V3E is that the V3E can send data back to the GeoVision machine via an IP network, whereas the V3 can only send via RS232 or RS 485, connecting to a GV NET, GV HUB or GV COM at the GeoVision end.

They may have somehow turned off the DirectDraw Overlay setting under System Configure. If it is this, to resolve do the following Enter System Configure Make sure that Enable DirectDraw Overlay is ticked. Restart GeoVision

Contact Supervisor message - unable to change system config
ezCCTV replied to UMDRanger's topic in Geovision
I think you are getting the message which means that the account you have set up to auto login is either typed incorrectly, or not valid On the System Configure screen, click on the blue arrow next to "Startup Auto Login" Make sure the account in this window is spelt correctly, and is a valid login -

-
Also I believe it has to be one of two chipsets (modem). I shall try and remember which ones.
-
I have seen what 501 is describing, I would be very interested in finding out what causes this. We had it set up over a wired 10/100 LAN (no excess traffic) We tried it with the AXIS software

Please check Device Manager. You should have drivers for your Geo card under Sound, Video and Game Controllers They may be under a heading called Other Devices. If this is the case, the drivers are not installed.
-
You would need 64 Bit drivers to get the card working properly. GeoVision does not create 64 Bit drivers, hence 64 Bit OS is not supported.
-
To disable this, you need to deactivate any cameras that are not connected. Click on the configure icon (Hammer and Screwdriver) Click on Camera / Audio Install Click on Activate Untick any cameras that are not connected to your system Click OK
-
You could always use the CenterV2 application (free for up to 5 systems) GeoVision can be configured to send all data to the CenterV2 machine over a network. Might be worth looking into
-
GeoVision have advised me that this is the normal behavior They advise that because some users may not have the privilege to write to other locations, they have made it a global default that you can only create a new folder, but not rename the folder or files.
-
I have passed this on to GeoVision. I shall post back as and when I get a answer.
-
Yes you can dictate which cameras are shown and get them to scan after a specific amount of time.
-
This is a VIA chipset motherboard. GeoVision is not compatible with VIA chipset motherboards.
-
Thank you for the recommendation. Have a look at our website. Any questions just ask.

Just install MultiView WebCam client 8.12 and you will be able to connect to other (older) systems.
