GV-1480 help with poor video recording and live video
ezCCTV replied to PolarisX2's topic in Geovision
Can you post a snapshot or link to a clip? -
Do you have any security software that may be blocking the Webcam service on the GeoVision system?
-
Click on the Configure Icon (Hammer and Screwdriver) Click on Camera / Audio Install Click on Activate Untick any cameras that are not connected Click OK

What add ons would you like to see on the Geo DVR system?
ezCCTV replied to rory's topic in Geovision
And I didn't know that. Cheers -
Follow MCS's advise. Recording to the same disk that Windows resides on is a bad idea. Windows (pagefile) and GeoVision (footage) can fight for the same space on the disk

You can get the Quad view to change by pressing the "Page Up" key. It will change from 1/2/3/4 to 5/6/7/8 to 9/10/11/12 then 13/14/15/16 James. -
No Problem. Glad to hear it!

Is C:\GVxxx one of the recording paths?

The Colossus Pro I believe is a rebranded HikVision DVR. I have had a look throught their website, and found a manual. It appears that you only need to forward one port. On the DVR you can dictate the IP address, and HTTP port (default 80) You can find more info on Port forwarding for many routers at http://www.portforward.com Click on Guides Click on Port Forwarding Guides by Router Locate your Router Click on Default Guide You should be able to find a manual from the following page. http://www.hikvision.com/en_Service_list2.aspx?classid=82 Hope this helps a little.

photys is correct, You will need to download the 8.12 MultiView client (done by either connecting to an 8.12 install or installing the client manually) 8.12 is the only Vista compatible GeoVision release

You cannot create the USB Keys, and they are no longer in production. You may still find some floating around out there amongst installers. If in doubt regarding versions 6.05 works on nearly everything.
-
JOINDVR is correct, the V3 does not have the extra card within the unit. You should be able to purchase this board as an upgrade from your GeoVision supplier.
-
We always use the GeoVision Keylock utility, and have XP auto login.
-
Make sure that you have Enable Direct Draw Overlay ticked under System Configure, and restart GeoVision

Right...., Could you please advise us of the complete requirement? Number of cam, location of cams etc. Also please give the make and model of any equipment you have, DVR "PoE Plugs" etc. You really need to have a concise plan before buying the equipment. Also what IP server were you thinking of using?
-
Ditch the balun, and the router. What is the distance you need to sent the cameras wirelessly? Get proper wireless video transmitters and receivers.
-
Please advise the make and model of this "balun"

cpeonline, could you PM me an IP address and login details to a demo site, or post some screen shots. Thanks -
If I have read your post correctly, then you have a DVR card and software. A quad balun (4 cams over 1 CAT5 cable) and a wireless router. Your Setup should be like below; all bold items are cables Cam 1 to 4 -> RG59 BNC -> BALUN1 -> CAT5 -> BALUN2 -> RG59 BNC -> DVR Card Your PC should then have access on to your router (wired or wireless) Your DVR card software should have a network function, which will allow you to view the cameras over the local network, and over the Internet with the proper router configuration. Post your Software and version, and someone should be able to help

Have you tried using the new Advanced Motion Detection settings, located on the configure menu?
-
Rory is right. Somewhere in your ATI control panel you will be able to select clone as a method. The reason for the pink screen, is that GeoVision uses the DirectDraw layer to display the live camera images (if you have the "enable DirectDraw Overlay" ticked under system configure). Windows limits the direct draw layer to the "Master" monitor in a dual monitor setup. In clone mode, both the monitors are "master".

Is this when you play the avi file in the GeoVision's recording path in a media player other than GeoVision. Can you try to export to an AVI file from with the Viewlog. This should space out the frames so that it will playback in "realtime". The playback is fast because you are not recording in realtime (25fps in PAL)
-
The remote ViewLog app is good, on system 8.1 and above. If you have a decent speed connection to the remote site, you have all the same functions as the local ViewLog
-
How far is the register from the GeoVision DVR?
-
Make sure that the drivers for your card are installed correctly. Check this under device manager. Also make sure that you have not accidentally installed GV600 software with a GV800 card for instance.
