Currently you cannot get more than 16 cameras recording on 1 machine. You can stack the GV2008 card.
-
This is usually because of the following in my experience. This problem might be caused by "VOSub" software, please go into the properties of the codec and uncheck the "Flip picture vertically" to solve the problem.

The next version 8.1.2 will be compatible with Windows Vista. The current version does have some issues with Vista. We should see this new version around the end of April.

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6300 P4M800PRO-M V2 Motherboard
ezCCTV replied to Arockerdude's topic in Geovision
I have tried a couple of the ATI chipsets, and neither of them have worked. I would recommend sticking with the Intel standard chipsets, 945, 965 and 975. -
Upside down AVI files can be due to DirectVobSub software In the software there is a property under the Misc tab, with a tick box "flip picture vertically". If you have this installed, please make sure that this is not ticked. I would recommend that when giving evidence to police you do the proper backup through GeoVision rather that creating AVI files. The police then have everything they need.

GeoVision are releasing the hardware encoding GV-2016 card (16 channels). The earlier models in the family (4 and 8 channel) can support 2 cards in 1 system, there may be the ability to install 2 of these in the near future.

You can logout, but the system is still running and recording.

The main reasons I can see the GV Video Server being used are as follows; 1. Residential areas, where they only need 2 cameras, and do not want / need a PC. 2. If there is a camera (analogue) located at a geograpically difficult area, then you can make the GV Video Server wireless, and connect it to the GeoVision server over the LAN. We have found the GV Video Server to be a very popular product.

GV900 and GV1000 are incompatible with Version 8.

GeoVision will release a version 8.1.2.0 that will be compatible with Windows Vista. There is no exact date as of yet, I will post when I know more.
-
As CameraGenius suggested, there is not a feature to fine tune for this. You could try using PIRs to trigger recording.
-
Geo is not compatible with Vista yet. There will be a new version of software that will allow you to use Vista as the OS. If I hear of any further information I will post here.

The highest resolution you can record in GeoVision is 720x576 (PAL), and the highest frame rate is 25 FPS, again PAL. When you record your images in resolutions above 320x240, the framerate across the card will drop. On GeoVision Version 8 and above you can now set the card to record at 1FPS without motion or at full framerate when motion occurs.
-
Please make sure that you have correctly selected PAL (Europe) or NTSC (USA) under Video Source.

There appears to be an issue with some upgrades of GeoVisio installations. If you previously have had 8.01 running on a system then 8.1 should work OK. If you are experiencing problems like the one mentioned above, then try the following: This is a patch file released by GeoVision Simply copy the PassDll.dll file to the GeoVision folder (e.g. C:\GV800). http://www.ezcctv.com/geovision/patch/PassDll.zip

In the new Version 8.1 using the Nero burn this is not the case. Using OS burn, It does put the files in the directory, but when you next burn a CD it replaces the files in that temp folder. This is what I have experienced anyway please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. For the reasons above, we always recommend our users to backup to an external disk, and navigate on a separate PC. Using the New 8.1 and built in Nero applet, you do not need to add Nero to the Allowed Applications list I have not used this feature, but I believe it is to set looping points, similar to a DVD player. Set point A and point B and it will play the footage in a loop. I have not seen any, but if people know of any then I would be interested in finding out more information about them. I shall find out if there is anyway around this. I believe Rory has answered this There are several on our website, but they are branded with our logo, all our documents have to be. We are also in the process of creating demonstration videos as well. Best regards James

I have not seen that message before, have you contacted Geo Support about it?
-
GeoVision have advised me that the server was down for maintenance, it is now back up and functioning correctly.

Hi, You can download the manual from our website http://www.ezcctv.com/software-download.htm You may have to quickly register to access the page

It may be that there is a problem with their name servers. Do other network / Internet applications work OK? I shall check with Geo and get back to you.

As far as I am aware all manufacturers advertise framerate at QVGA (320x240) I am not sure what other manufacturers cards achieve at higher resolutions in relation to GeoVision cards.

As with the post above try changing the HTTP port in GeoVision to something other than port 80. THis is done from the Server tab of the Webcam setup page. another way to check your system from the remote location is to use the telnet command. From a command prompt type: telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx example telnet 81.86.29.25 4550 If the port is open, then you will get a blank screen with a flashing cursor. If not then it will tell you that i cannot open port.

With the GV-Hybrid cards or the new GV-2004 / GV-2008 cards, as these record in native MPEG2, you can create a "proper" DVD that will play back in a stanalone DVD player. GeoVision will export VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directories, that you can import easily into Nero.

The other thing to check is that it is not referring to your Motherboard's on board Soundcard. CHeck device manager for any problems
