I was looking for some help getting motion detection to work on my new system. I have 5 Dahua IPC-HFW4300S cameras and 1 IPC HDW4300S camera running on a Dahua NVR 4208-8P system. I have been having trouble getting the motion detection to work. I can't seem to get it to work no matter how I set it up. I don't know if it's the drivers of the camera which is not correct inhibiting the camera from doing motion detection or if there is a NVR setting I haven't done correctly. I question the drivers because when I look at the firmware, three of them say "Private" Manufacturer and the other 3 day "ONVIF" as the manufacturer. Specifically 3 of the 5 HFW4300S cameras are listed as ONVIF being the manufacturer which seems really ironic to me since I would assume they would all have the same driver. As a result, it seems my adjustment options on the 3 "ONVIF" cameras are much more limited. On these cameras, when I go to the camera and try to change the camera code stream type to "MD" from regular, I get this error "channel x does not support configuration search or modification!". I have gone under events and changed all of the motion detection to enable and also changed the schedule period to motion detect, however, they are all still continuously recording. I have video loss enabled on all the cameras and tampering is not enabled on all the cameras though I have no clue what that means.
I have tried emailing dahua to see if I could get drivers and they have not gotten back to me. I was wonder if somebody on this forum could help point me in the right direction in trying to set up motion detection on my system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
