Can anyone confirm that Hikvision camera firmware 5.1.2 does NOT work with IMVS 4200 either on Windows or Mac?

Firmware 5.1.2 and IMVS 4200
NolliTV replied to NolliTV's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Catseyenu, I did exactly that. When I first tried to upgrade via IVMS 4200, I got the region mismatch...so I tried TFTP as the instruction described. -
Firmware 5.1.2 and IMVS 4200

TFTP should work on Chinese camera with US firmware to overcome region mismatch. Your attached pic shows a successful TFTP install... I am confused. No...it's not done...according to the TFTP install PDF, it should have device >IP address >system update completed...see photo. I'll try the US firmware 5.1.0 later in the week...I have been using the European one. -
Firmware 5.1.2 and IMVS 4200
NolliTV replied to NolliTV's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think I found the problem...my camera (IP Box DS-2CD853F-E) is not compatible with firmware 5.1.2...the furthest I can go is firmware 5.1.0. Just tried firmware 5.1.0 for sure...still no luck...the firmware 5.1.0 would have to come from China to work (region blockage)...sadly! Does anyone know how to get the Chinese firmware? I tried going through Google Chrome...all I see is firmware 5.2.0...is there an archive? -
How to setup Hikvision 2032 on Mac computer/router?
NolliTV replied to hoffsta's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You'll need to assigned the camera an IP address of your network, example 10.0.1.63. You do that by clicking on (IVMS 4200) Device Management >Show Online Devices. Click on the camera you want to add and change the IP address then click ADD Device. You'll then need to give the camera a nickname, enter user admin and password 12345, then check that it has the IP address you assigned the camera and that it's on port 8000...be sure to check the box add to group. Honestly, I have never got to go smoothly...always seems awkward with a few tries -

Firmware 5.1.2 and IMVS 4200

I did use TFTP and followed Hikvision directions completely...didn't take and after 50mins I killed it. The other thing is I could never able to login into the camera using a browser...only IVMS-4200. -
Firmware 5.1.2 and IMVS 4200
NolliTV replied to NolliTV's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I spent last night trying to add firmware 5.1.0 from Europe to no avail...the region blocks it (say transmit and hang doing it for an hour). I have contacted the Chinese seller to see whether they can send both 5.1.0 and 5.1.2 to me. Also, I have contacted CBX and am going through the decision making process...at least, there a light at the end of the tunnel. -
Firmware 5.1.2 and IMVS 4200
NolliTV replied to NolliTV's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well, I am was thinking of upgrading the firmware to version 5.1.2, however, I had saw on another forum that starting with that firmware IVMS 4200 no longer works. I want to upgrade to 5.1.2 because of the improved low lighting...my camera DS-2CD853F-E has firmware 3 currently, and I bought them (4) directly from a Chinese seller (he/she is not a dealer). Currently on my camera the month, Date, year as well as time is in English with a Chinese character in between the year and the time. The time is China time...I changed the NTP to get local time...nothing happened -
Firmware 5.1.2 and IMVS 4200

Thank you MindTwist for responding...so to be clear, you're saying that IVMS 4200 does WORK with Hikvision firmware 5.1.2...correct? And if it does, is that natively...without any modification or hack to the software? -

Does anyone know of a third party open source that work with Hikvision cameras using firmware greater than version 5.1.0? -
Modifying Hikvision for English
NolliTV posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
First post...I have a couple Hikvision IP box cameras (DS-2CD853F-E) as part of my home security and monitor system. I also use IVMS 4200 on a MacBook Pro as well as IVMS 4500 on an iPad and on an Android tablet to view the camera's live videos. However, I have not really setup anything beyond making sure the cameras work because I wanted to upgrade the firmware so that things would be in English rather than Chinese. I read in another forum that here is the place to be if one wants to figure out how to do such upgrade. I thought the latest Hikvision was 5.12...just saw in a post that there is a 5.20. From what I understand, firmware 5.12 and later will no longer support IVMS 4200. So. I am here to find out the best option for my cameras. I have downloaded the European version of firmware 5.12. -

Thanks for the info...I had already download versions 5.0, 5.10. and 5.1.2 firmware. The only reason I wanted firmware 5.1.2 is the supposed improvement in low light settings. Some have said is not worth it; however, I could use any improvement to low lighting.
