-
I have been getting a "Camera 9 read data error " and "Camera 9 No Data for over X seconds" for a few weeks now and cant seem to fix the emails, however i dont seem to be missing any recordings as i record 24/7. Its only happening to that one camera and i have a total of 12 on this QNAP. QNAP: VS-2108Pro+ Switch: Cisco SG200 Camera: Hikvision DS-2CD2232-I5 Any ideas or is it a bad wire or RJ45 end? Downside to this is its in Mexico and im in the states so i cant do on the ground trouble shooting..

Help Building A Stream Server Hikvision Cameras
Ballistic replied to Ballistic's topic in Computers/Networking
I love the Qnap and dont want to get rid of it. The plan is to just add all the cameras to hikvisions stream server and then give each camera a new ip to be able to restream to my amazon TVs and Raspberry Pis. And i'm starting to use alot more of the Dell R430s in my racks, and they just look good.. -
Im looking at building/Buying a Dell R430 Server to be used as a re stream server. I plan on using the Hikvision software with it. Right now i have 32 Hikvision cameras, and i know ill be adding more. Im using a Rack mount Qnap for recording and playback now. My current cameras are DS-2CD2132-I and DS-2CD2232-I5. Im running into them crashing from using too many streams from each camera on our tvs around the factory. What im trying to figure out is how much power will this server need and whats i should throw in the build. I was thinking at least 64GB DDR4 ECC of Ram and be able to upgrade easily down the road if needed. Dual Xeon E5 Processors (not sure what ones yet) Intel 10 Gigabit fiber NIC Windows Server OS Should i see if i can do a GPU? SSD Caching? Any help would be much appreciated!

Looking at building a server for Hikvision iVMS-4200 for its stream server capabilities. I'm trying to figure out if the software will take full advantage of a Dual CPU Motherboard or if i should get a Single CPU. I called Hikvision but i felt like they were just saying yes and truly did not know.

Can you please inform me of the price range of DS-6404? I checked out amazon and aliexpress. It is way too expensive. Unreal???That's why I am asking. They get expensive real fast! The DS-6404 is around $1,400, my wholesaler price is a few hundred below that. The DS-6401 is about $500 I have been trying to find a good way to encode and stream 4 and 6 camera layouts on tvs using a single RTSP stream so i can use raspberry pi's on each TV because i can just stick PI behind a wall mounted TV, and not need to mount a big box or run HDMI.. The problem i get with raspberry pis and trying to stream more than one camera, they get real laggy and become like 20 seconds behind real time.. About the DS-6404, The 4 channels does that mean i can make 4 different camera displays and then have 4 TVs and each TV will have one of the different displays? Like if i did a 2x2 camera layout and had 4 TVs i could display 16 different cameras on the 4 TVs?

Looking at the Hikvision Decoders but trying to figure out if it will do what im trying to do. DS-6401HDI-T http://overseas.hikvision.com/us/Products_accessries_10660_i8695.html When it says 1 Channel output does this allow me to take say like 6 1080p Hikvision cameras and out put them to a mosaic style display? Or if i get the 4 channel or bigger model would that give me 4 different streams of different cameras on each stream? Any more info on these would be much appreciated

Ill look into the Hik NVRs. I love the 3MP cameras, im just trying to get some camera screens in a few peoples offices so when they need to let someone in at the gate they can see, i dont want them having to have a Qnap account on my QVR and using more bandwidth on that vlan, all the cameras are on a different vlan so streaming directly from the cameras is a better option i feel. its not limited to the 50 dollar budget im open to spending 100-150ish with some wiggle room.. i just don't want to be buying 300 dollar boxes for each office or something.. Spent a ton on this setup already. -
Right now im using Raspberry PIs via RTSP Streams, but they can only handle about 1 HD and 3 SD, trying 2 or more will crash the device because its just doesn't have enough power for it.. Is there anything good out there thats not crazy expensive that can stream 4 HD streams? Raspberry pis are under 50 bucks thats why i like them.. Dont really want a big chunk of hardware, i have used the intel nucs to achieve this but was hoping for something cheaper, when i plan to have more than just a couple deployed.. Using 3MP hikvision 1080p Cameras
