Purchase an NVR w/POE or NVR W/O POE and a switch?
tokyojoe replied to thebland's topic in System Design
As long as your POE switch supports the POE standard, as some old Cisco switches only support the Pre-standard. An external switch can be configured with QOS -

eyonet is an OEM for Dahua in Canada -
Just got my first Dahua Dome camera in the mail today, how do I get into it to point and focus it?

I just purchased a Dahua NVR4416 through a Chinese company I found on Alibaba. I paid $283 +$47 in import duties. I had a 4TB hard drive also installed, and it cost me an extra $100. When I bought it, I asked for the English software to be installed, and I wanted the English manual. the company called me and asked me if I wanted the Dahua logo on the box. here is what I found out: Dahua sells a number of OEM licenses. Dahua is branded "Dahua" in Asia only. Everywhere else, it is not branded. In Canada, one company owns the import OEM and they are branded Eyeonet, I believe a second is Galaxy. In the US there are other names such as Swan. In Europe they are named differently as well. if you ever buy their cameras, photos show the Dahua name, but the cameras do not. In fact the English manual is generic. I looked into buying local, but they did not sell the model I wanted without the internal POE switch. And they wanted over $1300 to import it. I have a Gig network in my home. And the price was right, I had to wait 2 months for the unit to come, but it was worth it, and it works great. Like it was said above, there are some large factories that do work for multiple companies, and there could be a production of Dahua right next to Hikvision. Channel Master does this also, I ordered a Channel master TV receiver and it was exactly the same as a no name brand box I bought for half the cost only difference was the covers color. Car companies can only import so many models, that's why Nisan has Infinity and Toyota has lexis. I am really happy with my new NVR

do genuine dahua products carry the logo

After reading this. with the research I have been doing, I think I have more of an understanding. I am in the market for an NVR. I am in Canada, and the Canadian distributor for Dahua has an OEM name of EYEonet. When you said that the Dahua name is not on the product, I understand that, I have found that Dahua has the following OEM's: Eyeonet, Galaxy, Swan, and others. if the Us Distributor is paying big bucks to be the only supplier in Canada or the US, however there are a number of companies in china selling products which they say are manufactured by Dahua but to be able to sell in markets where they are not licensed, they can't put any markings on the box. Dahua makes a lot of money selling OEM's around the world and there goal is to sell as many boxes as they can. In the end if you buy form the local distributor, you will have the warrantee, and full support, if you buy from another market, you will have to go back to them if you have an issue. that decision is up to you. -
New to the game, just doing research to by my first NVR, where do I find info on different NVR's?

Sorry guys, Netgear is not real Netgear -
In doing some research, i found in Canada anyway Dahua part numbers are the same as Galaxy and eyeonet. if you search on the specs and photos they are exactly the same. Or at least I think so. In china, there are factories which have multiple production lines and a hikvision line could be right next to a Dahua line as the factory is outsourced by the two companies Are there any differences between the Dahua, eyeonet and Galaxy NVr's and camera's? thanks
