Viewing video files with an external player??
Monkey replied to Monkey's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi iTune! Yes I'm back again We got into the HDDs thanks to your help, we're just looking at the files through another computer and couldn't get the video files off in order to view them. When we viewed the disks in a hex editor we could only see those 2 phrases (dhfs/wfs 0.4) and we've got no idea what they are, we thought they might be video file formats. -
Hi folks, We've managed to export some CCTV video files from the hard drives in the machines but we can't seem to find some software that will play these video formats! From what we can tell the video formats are DHFS and WFS 0.4, do they sound familiar to anyone?? VLC and such are not recognizing them. Thanks in advance " title="Applause" />

2001-01-01 7sAYI8 I'm so sorry, I've got the date wrong. The date in question is 2000-01-01, so so sorry. Can you tell I'm having a bad day?
-
Yes we can, we can now enter letters AND numbers for the password. The date requiring a password is 2000-01-01. Thanks again " title="Applause" /> Well, just a chip on my shoulder! I really thought it was that you have some kind of miracle! Haha no, we just don't really know how to work these DVRs. Do you know the password for 2001-01-01? Thanks.

Sorry, didn't work Not sure what you mean by this mate. Yes we can, we can now enter letters AND numbers for the password. The date requiring a password is 2000-01-01. Thanks again " title="Applause" />

Now I understand sorry. Unfortunately we don't have a distributor as these were given to us when a place closed, we only have the equipment.

The DVR that will only accept numbers for a password is this one mate: Link to site: http://www.surwaytech.com/16ch-d1-hybrid-dvr-SHVR-7016DA-EL What you mean by 'Link to the firmware' I'm not sure? However on Surway's spec list it says it's Embedded Linux.

Yes, the firmware shown in the picture below will only allow us to input numbers for the password

Hi thanks for the reply. Here is the first one we're having trouble with: And here is the second one: Thanks again for all your help " title="Applause" />

Thanks again for you help mate, much appreciated! We are having some dramas with that last one though, the password box doesn't seem to give us the option to use letters - only numbers? I'll give you the full story: We've been given 4 x CCTV systems by someone who needs us to be able to recover the video files on them, we have 2 which are the same make (listed above) and 2 others which I'll post up when I work out what they are. Sadly all the passwords are lost but your help is definitely appreciated " title="Applause" />

Hi, Currently got one of these: SHVR-7016C-SL And we are having difficulty with the master password as it's not known, under the username we only have the options for 'Admin' & 'User'. Is there any way of bypassing or resetting the password? Thanks in advance!
