Could really do with some help at this point in time as this thing is driving me mad!!!!!

Hi Just recieved my system, brought online, plugged it all in and nothing. Actually brought two systems, one for my neighbour, tried his as well and its exactly the same. I tried initially to view it through my samsung flat screen but through hdmi I get "mode not supported" tried on another sharp monitor, "out of range" wont connect to my laptop either. Am I being a numpty and missing something stupid (other than buying a chinese product online)
