Hello;
This looks like a very good place to research and fill in the blanks (significant) about choosing and installing a home NVR with 6-8 cameras.
I assembled my desktop pc, and used to be USAF certified electronics tech back in the old "Steely-eyed Missileman days" though I was just another civilian gal on the line.
Total noob when it comes to knowing this branch of electronics, though. And dealing with networking and accessing a system reliably via an app on my Android phone?
The tech is moving faster than I can keep up with.
I love the concept of the Vivotek ND8301 and it, with HD cameras are so far out of my budget range it's wanting filet mignon on a Ramen noodles budget.
Home is a single-story 1,500sq.ft. ranch-style with a low roof pitch and a half-attic crawl space.
Questions foremost right now: Am I better off building a dedicated NVR PC with a capture card, buying cameras as I can afford them and run it with Blue Iris?
I have a LOT of reading to do here.
So, hello.
