    Q-See Surveillance System - Should I buy?

The link I posted from Q-See has CCD cameras instead of CMOS, they should be less noisy at night. They are refurbed but carry the full warranty so it shouldn't be an issue. It comes with 8 instead of 4 and the DVR does realtime (30 fps) 960H.

    Q-See Surveillance System - Should I buy?

I have a 960H Q-See and I like it. This is probably a better deal right now though, right from Q-See. http://www.q-see.com/8-channel-960h-dvr-with-8-960h-cameras-and-1tb-hard-drive-qt578-8e2-1/

    Dynacolor SVC2200 camera

    Set it to full duplex.
  4. What is the purpose of motion detection in the OSD for the Sony CCD cameras? I am assuming that my DVR actually does the motion detection for recording. I have it off on my cameras and my DVR records on motion fine, I guess I'm not really sure what the purpose of enabling it at the camera would be.

I want a cheap half decent 8 channel

I didn't "want" a Dahua, per say. I bought the DVR on Amazon a month ago based on a lot of positive reviews. This was before I had stumbled across this forum. Also before I had even heard of Dahua. After reading quite a bit on here, I found that many Q-See DVR's were said to be rebranded Dahua's, and I was just curious as to who actually made my DVR.

It's not a Dahua face plate that I'm familiar with. It's still possible that the board is made by Dahua. You'd need to post screen shots of the GUI and find the firmware version. I can't post any screen shots until I get home, the firmware, however, is 3.3.0.P-3520D-03

I know this is an old thread, but just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Q_SEE QT5682 is a rebranded Dahua?

    800 TV lines on D1..?

It's only uploading when you are connected to it with a mobile device watching the video stream. It doesn't just constantly upload and consume bandwidth...
