Is it possible you didnt click save after you forwarded each port ?
-
You should be able to pull up your instruction manuel on the hikvision website to help .also you can check out portforward.com .they have detailed instructions on port forwarding for many routers . Good luck
-
Your probably better off not using p2p anyway . P2p will most likely leave your dvr more vulnerable . There are many free and paid ddns services available .after setting up ddns , Just forward the ports in your router that are listed in your dvr under network settings/port Tab to your IPv4 address listed in your dvr under network settings/general Tab.

While it's not working , log in to your router and see if something else on the network is using the dvr's ip address . -
There are several different technologies or formats available. There is standard definition analog which is what you have . Then there is high definition analog .Hd-tvi, hd-cvi, and ahd technologies . Then there is high definition digital .Hd-sdi &hd-sdi ex . These all work on rg59 coax cabling .or sometimes twisted pair cabling with baluns . Then there are also network based systems . It is important to understand that none of these technologies will work with the other at all unless you have a hybrid or a tribrid video recorder .then only the technologies listed in that hvr's specs will be compatible .for example ,many hvr's will be compatible with standard definition analog and one format of high definition analog (hd-tvi, hd-cvi, or ahd). Tribrids will usually be compatible with standard definition analog, network based and one format of high definition analog. High definition analog systems offer dvr's & hvr's that start at about $75 for a 4 channel up to about $1000ish depending on the # of channels ,frame rate ,storage etc .you can get a very good quality dvr/hvr in the $200- $400 price range . opinions or recommendations for a new residential system
captainvideo replied to WILDCATSWON1's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Cable matters 4 port hdmi splitter with 4k resolution .103073 Good specs ,good reviews . So far so good . Many hdmi splitters will adjust all the outputs to the lowest definition tv's input .so if you have 1tv @4k ,2 tv @ 1080p ,& 1 tv @ 720p ,all outputs of the splitter will be 720p . This splitter has 4 EDID switches to adjust the outputs to each tv's highest resolution . It also supports 3d and up to dolby 7.1 It also came with 2 hdmi cables -
AHD camera, moving objects blurry at night
captainvideo replied to fantomas21000's topic in Security Cameras
I had trouble similar to this a few months ago where a customer had these cheapie no name motorized zoom & auto focus cams. All the cams were sharp and clear in the daytime but when the ir kicked on the autofocus would drift slightly out of focus .I replaced the camera and the trouble was gone . -

AHD camera, moving objects blurry at night
captainvideo replied to fantomas21000's topic in Security Cameras
I have no experience with ahd systems but I can tell you that all other technologies(hd-tvi, hd-cvi, hd-sdi &ip) will look jittery ,blurry or not smooth at 12fps .that's why they make dvr's that record/display in real time 25/30fps. Also if you are viewing your cam's at a monitor that is hooked up directly to your dvr then you will be able to see the full frame rate the dvr has to offer . If you are viewing your cam's remotely ,ie...computer,tablet,smartphone phone then you are most likely viewing them over the sub stream which usually has even less frames per second which will make the video even more jittery, blurry or not smooth . -
If you plan on replacing all the old analog camera's immediately to hd camera's, then a complete new system is in order here . But ,if you wanted to replace the defective dvr now and replace/upgrade/add hd camera's over time , then you can purchase an hvr . Hybrid video recorders will work with your existing analog camera's, plus you can add hd cams as your budget allows .these hvr's work with at least 2 different technologies meaning old sd analog ,new hd analog like hd-tvi or hd-cvi, or ahd .some will also accept network camera's. For example, hikvisions ds-7316hqhi-sh hvr will work with analog,hd-tvi, & network camera's.

Any suggestions on manufacturers of power release panic bars . I have been asked to replace a 50 year old panic bar on the front door of my church .they want to add an intercom and a button to unlock the door so when someone rings the bell , they can look at the already installed camera at the front door on monitors at 2 separate locations in the church and talk to the person and unlock the door . since the existing panic bar is very old and overdue for an upgrade , I want to replace it with a powered release panic bar and hook it up to an intercom system with a door release button . I'm aware of the many strike release options ,but this is a double wood door without a door jam between the 2 doors .1 of the 2 doors is stationary except for when 1 person in a wheelchair comes to church on Sunday. I'm pretty sure a power release panic bar is my best option but I'm open for any suggestions . Thanks

Panic bar with electric release
captainvideo replied to captainvideo's topic in General Access Control Discussion
After looking at it again today , I won't have to use any wire mold .the intercom is going in the bay next to the wire side of the door jam .I can put a retro fit box behind the intercom and make all my connections there .im pretty sure i can attach and run the armored cable to & through the jam . Depending on the lead length of the armoured cable , I can put another retro fit box on the inside in the same Bay or a shallow surface mount box next to the door .I already have 3 old intercom bell wires in that Bay to use for a drag to the attic/storage area .I think the armoured cable is the way to go for now .they plan on replacing both sets of double doors in the next year or two . -
Panic bar with electric release
captainvideo replied to captainvideo's topic in General Access Control Discussion
I'm thinking this way is definitely easier & faster , but less aesthetically pleasing .I'm not so sure I want to mess with hinges on a 157 year old church.i also don't want to do a slap job either .im sure electric hinges are not cheap .im going to price it out both ways and let the church committee decide . thanks for all the info ! -
Panic bar with electric release
captainvideo replied to captainvideo's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Thanks again ssmith10pn , The church received about $1000 in donations towards the access control system so hopefully I can keep it fairly close to that . As far as the install wiring part goes , I have full access to the attic above the door and the intercom locations and there is an old broken radio shack intercom there with an old 19guage bell wire in place to use as a drag so I got that going for me . I'm concerned with the durability of the wiring at the door hinge and how the pro's handle it .on the sdc website I noticed they sell hinges with the wiring in them .while this sounds like the a good solution ,I'm not sure on the durability . I'm wondering if this is what the pro's use or if it's just a future headache in the making ? ? ? -

Panic bar with electric release
captainvideo replied to captainvideo's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Thanks jeromephone , Currently ,no one can access the building through these doors unless someone comes and pushes the panic bar .which is how they want it .employees have a separate security entrance. The video surveillance supply house I use on long island set me up with the access control system for the employee entrance 2 years ago .so I took pictures of the front door and talked to them about this job .they recommended the powered panic bar over the electric strike plate due to no jam between the doors as well as having to fabricate a custom bracket to attach the electric strike plate . they have the intercom system that I need but don't sell the electric panic bar .they recommended looking online .I did but got frustrated . the church runs 2 daycare programs . These doors are mostly used for the parents to drop off & pick up their children as well as an occasional delivery . .There are no vertical top to bottom bars .this historical church was built in 1860 .so I don't think the custom fabricated angle iron bracket to mount an electric strike plate will be aesthetically OK. I tried to attach pictures but i cant .the file is too big I was hoping that someone would say , I use these ..... electric panic bars for years now and they work great ! Lol -
I haven't had much experience with smart tv's so I was wondering if they had a built in Web browser since they access netflix,Facebook ,etc I thought u may be able to access the dvr somehow since they share the same network

Looking for Home Video System on Long Island.
captainvideo replied to gabelman's topic in Security Cameras
"You will get 20% off on old tvi systems " Hd-tvi has only been available on long Island for less than 18 months , Is there such a thing as old hd-tvi systems yet !? The hikvision 7100 series dvr's may be considered old But they're not available at 123 . "Take a look at there flir 8 way IP system it's a saving of $400 .... Same system same delivery time but direct from lie better warranty better support ." Where did flir ip come from ? $400 savings from what ? Same system as what ? Ip and tvi are not the same Are you saying that an ip system is somehow cheaper than An hd-tvi system ? Not to my knowledge but I have been Proven wrong before . "Better warranty" are you saying that a manufacturers offer Better warranties to different distributors ? 123 honors the Warranty that the manufacturer honors . "Better support" I don't know how you can speak for their support . Have you dealt with them before .I have .every single issue that I Ever had was resolved Immediately at the service counter .no need For the manufacturer to get involved .before I knew how to forward ports they would link up with me on team viewer and set everything up for me .explaining what he was doing so I could learn how to do it . I don't know how much more customer support anyone would need . "I replied to this post just for the reason of a new member considering buying but can save $400 and with needing two that's $800 saving." How do you save $400 off a dvr that's $283 ? I replied to this thread to let people know that All in one box systems are generally cheap junk And that they can get quality professional equipment From a local supply house (not necessarily 123 ) that is an authorized reseller Without spending that much more money . "If 123 want to have a website that looks like a jigsaw puzzle and make customers guess on the price that is bad marketing" It might be a bit confusing to a greenhorn but After they start to Understand the specs, and Figure out what they want from their system , Its great for research because all the specs are listed clearly and you can download the specs And instructions too . You don't have to guess on the price , it's clearly Listed .so is the make an offer button . The other day you said ,"sunnykim you talk alot of crap" Now that's funny -
Looking for Home Video System on Long Island.
captainvideo replied to gabelman's topic in Security Cameras
Tom ,did you make an account and log in ? The prices go down a bit . If you notice ,on each Web page you can make an offer for the item displayed . Also i know that some manufacturers regulate the advertised prices of distributors. I recently bought a hikvision tvi motorized varifocal turret for a customer that was listed on the website for $167.97 .I paid $111. Their house brand is cantek .the same exact $164 hik camera from cantek is listed on the site for $92.95 .I pay $74.they get it from hik. I don't install ip systems so I can't speak for those prices . For the stuff I buy ,I spend on average 20% less than the other 4 supply houses in my Area and the several websites I check .it like the fact that all prices are negotiable there . Also ,they are a stand up company .they have done right by me on every single purchase , Return ,and question .I'm sure someone can find a better price on anything if you search Hard enough ,but I will never buy any surveillance equipment from the Internet. -
If your coax is rg59 like in Tom's first pic and you ordered rg59 bnc compression ends ,then everything should be OK but if your coax is the mini coax like in Tom's second pic then the rg59 ends will not work .stick with the baluns ,call it fixed for now.replace when/if you loose picture quality . Somehow I assumed you were going to replace your existing cable with rg59 siamese cable .sorry,my bad .
