I am in the UK and are looking for a 12v battery pack with charger to hook up to my cam or monitor for testing. Looking for the best option and best price. The only ones i can find are £40 with delivery which seems expensive just for a battery. Is there better out there? Thanks.

Thanks for the tip Craig i will certainly take a look and see if i have an old 12v drill and charger that i don't need any more. I have already been looking for other items that may have a 12v battery in with them like remote contol cars and things but they all still work out expensive to do.

Thanks CameraGimp for your help it is much appreciated. The info you posted covers most of the things i am looking for. Somewhat still a little complicated but i am sure i will work it all out. Now i just have to try and impliment these features onto my cam to get the best from it.

I am having a little trouble setting up this cam. There are quite a few settings on the cam and wondered if there is a certain way to get the best from this dome cam. There is light in the area that it covers and also light at night time. The cam will stay in colour day and night which is what i want. I have tried a few different settings but not quite sure the best way as i don't understand what most of them actually do. I am trying to get a good image through the day and also a good image at night without any (ghosting/blurring whatever it is called). Also would like to avoid peoples faces from appearing quite white and unidentifiable. Please can someone help me with this?

Thanks mr.surveillance that is the type of thing i am looking for. The only thing is i would like to find a supplier in the UK. Hopefully the price would be a little better too as it seems a little expensive.

Not sure which section this belongs in so please move if needed. I have a cam set at the back of my house and a security light that is on at night and also has a pir which makes it go brighter when activated. What i would like if possible is some sort of unit that will allow a connection from the lights pir to send a wireless signal to a portable unit to alert me. Not sure if anything like this exists, but if it does then i would like some hepl with it. Thanks

Although i thought the link i posted earlier was the way to go, i am now having trouble trying to find a type of buzzer/ siren or some sound warning device that actually plugs into the socket. Maybe i will still need to look for alternative ideas.
-
Thsnk for that link Kiwi but i am in the uk so no good for me mate. I did take a look though. It's ok i wouldn't go opening it up if i didn't know what i were doing. I know the link i posted did not have an alarm, but if i have understood it right then one part goes outside with a sensor on and the other plugs in the house and then a lamp/ buzzer or siren can be plugged into it. Or have i misread it?

Just found this whilst searching and wondered if it may be any good or would i need other things too? Home Easy Remote Control Outdoor PIR & Indoor Socket

I have just managed to find the information leaflet that came with the light & pir. After looking through it i have realised that it doesn't have the terminals that i thought it had (Must have been the light i had previously) Not sure what terminal it will have until i get time to open it up and look inside and test with multi meter. I totally agree this would be a great idea. Don't know what else i can try to get this result.

Replace it with what? I am not actually using this with a hard wired connection it is something i would like to add. @Kiwi Funny you should mention the doorbell route. I had been looking on the net and that was the only thing i could find (Don't know exactly what to look for like). a mnor problem with that is that the part that makes the sound would have to be powered/plugged in. Does the pir actually just send a signal or does it carry power too?
-
Thanks for the quick reply scorpion. My sensor does have a built in connection where you can attach wires. Looking for something that can attach to this and create a wireless connection to something portable to create a warning sound.
-
Thanks RickA but i would prefer not to use that option as i want to run it through my dvr first and the image will be wrong way.
-
I have been give a small cam that i would like to use but when connected up the image is the wrong way. It is supposed to be part of a system which the monitor has the switch to change the image. Is there a simple way to make one of the switches to do this or something that i could buy to do it?

Does this happen in most domes even IP66 rated ones? and do they always suffer from condensation?

Found out how to test the frame thing and it is definatley doing 25FPS. So any one have any ideas why it is still jerky?
