    eBay DVR's!!!Prices YOU WONT BELIEVE!!!

I understand where you're coming from kensplace. I'm hoping they both still have warranties on them.. If not then i'll just have to work with what i bought. I mean it would be wrong to sell a client a used DVR that doesnt have a warranty, but it can be very tempting when you look at the low prices you can buy them for and then you start to think about how much profit you can make buy selling them.. But I dont think i'll have to do that because it can cause plenty headaches, and if something does go wrong i'll have to take money out of my pocket and buy a new DVR. And as far as the eBay sellers goes.. I've looked at both their feedback and their well respected and both of them are over 1700 positive feedback comments as well as 98.0%+ in feedback rating.. If their feedbacks weren't so good i would've never made a bid on any of them cause I was already thinking kinda funny because of the low prices they were at. Im just hoping that the StoreSafe is better than the Honeywell and Eclipse DVR's that I use... And the software too!

    eBay DVR's!!!Prices YOU WONT BELIEVE!!!

Great point securitymonster.. But I will be using these DVR's for personally reasons. Like if i buy a cam and wanna bench test it, I can simply hook it up to any of the DVR's.. And if i have a client that wants to try a StoreSafe DVR but wants to see the online display i can simply log into the DVR at my home instead of showing other clients other users DVR.. Which is wrong. And most of all I never used a GE DVR and i heard good things about GE's DVR's and also rory wont post a reply without saying "GE" But I wanna see what the hype is about and also why so much ppl like GE's CCTV products. The only CCTV products i've used before are Honeywell and Eclipse. So this is a BIG change fore me. And plus for that price i had to buy them to try them out.
  3. Currently I'm trying Northern Video System which is in California and Silmar, their in Florida.Anyone one know any good CCTV Distributors in Florida?BTW...I've never tried any of the Distributors above but if I dont find any other Distributors I'll be forced to cause I dont know any where else.Who do you guys use?Especially you rory!Your in the Bahamas like me.

    Who sells Honeywell CCTV Products?

I agree that honeywell video prooducts is overpriced, and especially their DVR's!!!!Man!But the reason im hunting down a Honeywell Video Distributor is because I have a customer that has Honeywell Video in one of his stores. And in his other store he wants me to match the quality of the cams and the internet display aswell. The cam i have to match is a Honeywell "HD3VC4A" Indoor dome 330 TVL i think. And also he has a Honeywell "HRHD16C160" DVR.I cant find any of them but would like to replace them with either the same Type and Brand or either a different Type or Brand once its quality is equal or better.
  5. Anyone know where I can buy Honeywell CCTV Products?I only know about ADI but dont wanna use them. Can you guys post some links to where i can buy Honeywell CCTV products for good prices?Or maybe even a distributor? Thanks!

Who used this Nuvico DVR before?

Thanks, but I dont want to know whats better. What i wanna know is if anyone in this forum has ever used that Nuvico DVR before.I'm thinking about buying it but i want peoples opinions on who used the DVR before. It would help me out alot! The specs on the DVR makes me think its a great DVR....But the specs on the Eclipse Nubix8LT made me think it was a good DVR when infact it wasnt at all!So I just need to know what people here think.

Where do you buy CCTV Products?

Yeah we are still discussing it, also been busy .. Ill PM you sometime this week to get your contact so we can talk. Thanks Thanks rory! I have a question rory and scorpion....Im asking this cause you guys dealt with ECL before. Is this a good cam? "1/3" SONY CCD HI-RES DAY/NIGHT 3.5-8MM 480TVL 0.05 LUX IR SENS. VF A/I"Its a ECL-557HDV.I have a job coming up and i quoted the guy 4 of those....They go for about $167 a cam.Would any of you use those for a customer? And lets say GE sold a cam with the same specs...But cost $120 bucks more.Would you go with it?Or stay with the ECL because they have the same specs?Cause if there's a difference i'll get different cams. They're outdoor vandal domes and he wants quality and i also quoted a Nubix4 DVR.

Where do you buy CCTV Products?

If you're looking to do something out of Freeport, let me know, as a colleague here is going to be starting a retail DIY CCTV/Video Store in Nassau .. maybe able to team up and then less headaches in the long run .. more heads are better than one .. plus would get to test everything before they sell it. I dont know what the Freeport market is like these days though. How is it coming together after the hurricane damage? Thats where i was born and raised BTW! I'm always looking to do stuff out of Freeport!Id love if you can give me some more information because I'm interested. The Market in Freeport is kinda good. The company I work for are pulling lots of big and small jobs on the island. We're the newest Security company in Grand Bahama and we're gathering LOTS of jobs and also taking jobs from many security companys that have been around for a while! And their are only 3 techs including myself. But i try to do side jobs to build money to go off to college.Well freeport is coming back to life....SLOWLY!!!...But eventually we'll be back together.Things are looking good tho.Businesses that were closed due to the hurricane(s) are opening back up so things are coming along good.

Where do you buy CCTV Products?

Hey scorpion!....I never had problems with the Nubix8.Its the Nubix 8LT I had the problems with. The online display is poor and now i need to switch the DVR to a Nubix8 cause the internet display isnt bad on them. And whats weird is that the ips is the same for both DVR's.I've used the Orbix series DVR's but i dont like them too much....Dont get me wrong now!Their nice DVR's but id rather the Nubix8.The 8LT was a big disappointment and now i've gotta switch the DVR or replace it with a Honeywell DVR or another DVR that has good internet display

    IPS?..FPS?...PPS?

    Should've looked before i posted...Thanks alot rory
  15. Agent_Jay23

    IPS?..FPS?...PPS?

What i always wanted to know is....Whats the difference between those 3? Sometimes i may see 30fps,ips, or pps. 60,fps ips, or pps. 120fps, ips, or pps, etc... I know the "ips" Is images per second, the "fps" is frames and i think the "pps" is pictures. But is there a difference or is it just another way companies are trying to label things different from other companies buy using different letters?

    Wireless? or Conduit?

So you guys are saying i should go with an Avermedia DVR?And also...will it display a good picture online?Cause the DVR I'm currently using on a job now...Man!The online display is POOR!It's an Eclipse Nubix8LT but i was told that i should try the Nubix8 because it shows better online....However it has the same amount of "FPS" which is 240...I dont get it! But if the avermedia is good i'll get that.
  17. Hey Whats Up Everyone? This is my first post and i hope im in the right section with these questions.... Will first of all i have a small job coming up on a customers apartments. He has 3 light poles, two at the back(one on the left and one on the right) and one in the front. He wants a camera on each of the poles in the back(which i will put in a housing)and for the front pole he wants a PTZ.Sounds simple but its not.The 2 back camera's wont be as hard because i can make 2 trenches that will led straight to the head-unit and they'll be ran in conduit for sure. But the pole where we wants the PTZ to go is like.....75-150 feet away! And thats if im walking towards the head-unit in a straight line!Basically my problem is that if i was to make a trench from the PTZ to the head-unit it would destroy ALOT of plants and walk paths.I was thinking of going wireless but i dont know much about that and what parts i would need and also didnt now if it was possible of getting power on the light pole.I know its a light pole and it obviously has power but i dont know if id be allowed to tamper with it.Can anyone help me out here and give me a solution on how i can get a PTZ on a light pole via wireless? And my next question is...The brand i normally use is Eclipse(was thinking about using it on the job above).I find eclipse to be cheap and some what a good brand. But recently i brought over a Eclipse Nubix8LT and the internet playback was POOR!!!Now im second guessing. Can anyone recommend another good brand i can use one which is not so expensive? And one that has great good/great internet playback? Thanks alot!Like Honeywell or anything else!

    Wireless? or Conduit?

Yeah i think they're slack down here aswell cause i've mounted a few camera's on poles(on my real job) and i dont recall those poles being personally owned. But thanks alot jisaacmagee and rory!
  19. Agent_Jay23

    Wireless? or Conduit?

Well i think i'll convince him to go with the trenching instead. It wont be easy but if its cheaper i'll have to go that way.And also, if he doesnt happen to own those poles...Does that mean i wont be able to mount cameras on them?If so that will mess me up BIG time!
