I'm in Long Island, New York and quite honestly I wanted this specific DVR because of it's specs. Keeping in mind it's for my own home, I wanted a 16 channel HD-SDI dvr that can record and playback at real time and supposedly this model will achieve this. I don't need a hybrid, it's just an upper model that can achieve what I want. CCTVStar - SSA-1648HDS Just wondering if anyone has had experience with CCTVStar dvr's or components at all. Thanks!

Does anyone have any experience with CCTVStar, I am interested in a DVR they make and was wondering about the reputation of quality and reliability. (Korean)
  3. First off, thanks for replying! I have to tell you that selecting my DVR has been rather discouraging as to the amount of information out there regarding these mainly Korean or China based DVR manufacturers. Like anything else I do in life I get way too involved in the whole "specs" department. But, it is for my home and I don't mind spending a little extra. Ok, so maybe I decide to take a new look at what I'm thinking. Maybe I can start with a few recommendations from you guys that are in the field. I'm leaning toward a Korean made DVR. Thinking the quality might be better. Any thoughts? Still thinking 16 channel HD-SDI. My local supplier offers KT&C, CCTVStar, Cantek (Dahua), Vitek. Anyone like or dislike these brands? I found a CCTVStar that works for me, but know nothing in the area of quality with this name, any thoughts? Thanks ahead of time for any replies!
  4. Anyone? OK does anyone know of a high quality 16 Channel HD-SDI DVR that can record in real time and playback at real time or should I not be concerned with that?
  5. Hi all, I'm trying to locate a 16 Channel HD-SDI 1080P DVR for use at my residence. It must have 480 FPS which is easy to find, but I came across the situation where most cannot playback at 480 (30 FPS per channel). Nobody seems to be able to answer as to why this is. One would think that if it records at 480 it should playback at 480. Now I have found units under the Magic series that list a 16P and a 16M versions one plays back at 120 FPS and the M at 480 FPS. Check it out. Look at the area that shows Playback. Must be a heavier processor? https://sep.yimg.com/ty/cdn/yhst-76907579713786/XVST-MAGIC-16M.pdf Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Also does anyone have any opinions or experience with the Magic series DVR's?
