  1. I was wondering if my Argus DVR which has standalone software can be viewed through IE for remote monitoring? I have read alot of people use the browser to view there set-ups and was hoping to do the same with mine. I am having problems viewing remotely right now it is very spurratic, and the setup on the router has me stumped. For some reason i can view the cameras locally with the IP of the DVR, but when viewing remotely i have to use a different IP. That IP is the one that comes up when i use the website what is my ip. Iam new to this, but shouldnt i be able to type in the IP of the DVR say: 192.168.9.130 in the DVR software and view it remotely? If there is a website that has the IE software for me to view my cameras remotely that would be great. Thanks in advance. Ed
  2. Hi, I am new to this forum and hope I can get some help with my issues. I have an 8 channel DVR connected to a Dlink DI-624M router. I also have a static IP and the settings for it from my ISP. I do not use IE to view my cameras, rather the software from the DVR. I must use the software to log-in and view the cameras. It has set up for IP-Port-username and password. How do i set the router up to view the cameras with the software from my home. I can log into the router, and also the TCP/IP menu on the DVR to do the set up. I have done basic networking for my business, but never set up a DVR through the router. I hope I explained it enough, and hope to recieve some direction on how to do this. A company said they can do the networking set-up for $300, but i am hoping i can do it myself and save the money for better cameras. Thank you in advance Edward Pic
