Tried the above and no joy, i assume as there is no power going to the IP camera. I use a NVR with 4 POE ports. Also i have a POE 8 port switch. Would the switch work? Ip camera - ethernet cable plugged into POE port on the switch - ethernet cable from another POE port, or standard port plugged into the laptop ethernet port.

Thanks, Have not got around to do this yet, but the Hikvision firmware is fine on any 2XX2 model camera? Also would this be the way to do it Change IP of PC Start TFTP, firmware. Plus the camera directly into my laptop via ethernet cable

Sorry where are the full instructions on where to do it? And do i need the Chinese/US/EU firmware? I very much appreciate your help

Just follow the TFTP recovery on the Hikvision website and get the firmware from there? Having a look here, can not get the TFTP folder to download http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/File/201433116851896.pdf Sorry your last sentence is not making much sence to me. Thanks

I have tried updating my Hikvision 2cd-2032 but when i was copying over the edited davinci.tar and in the middle of it the ftp crashed. When i went back into it the are no files in the camera at all and now showing a different version and model number altogether. Serial now showing as DS-2CD-Min-System0120140827CCRR47784**** Model Number - V4.0.8 140610 Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this please?
