Hey everyone, Having a strange issue since updating to firmware version 8CH_Mini_NVR_V4.0_201500124_Firmware. I cannot reset any settings in the NVR, it will state it's successful but on reboot nothing has changed. I tried to use the recovery files on a USB flash drive but the NVR will not load anything and just hangs on the boot screen until I remove the flash drive and manually reboot it. I tried to telnet in but 2 functions only get to 99%. (see photo) Has anyone else had anything similar happen and have you fixed it? Thanks for any input.

It is a POE system. This only happens when I'm pulling the feeds to the mini NVR via onvif. I set this identical Zmodo system up for a neighbor and he has had no issues with it. The only difference with his setup is he doesn't have the mini NVR. The Zmodo system works fine if I use it standalone, which is why I believe it has to be some issue/setting with the mini NVR. I have reset the Zmodo system, the individual cameras and the mini NVR with no luck.

I'm having another strange issue, specifically with Zmodo cameras. I have been using 4 Zmodo cameras along with my other cameras and pulling the feeds to the mini nvr via onvif. Every night the 4 cameras feeds will randomly dropout for a short period of time, but this happens multiple times. Once the feeds come back up the cameras ir cut filters will stick causing them to display nothing but a fuzzy gray image. This only seems to happen when I'm using them along with the mini nvr, so I figured I would ask here to see if anyone has had a similar issue and possible fix for this before I check with Zmodo. Nothing is set to auto reboot on either the mini NVR or the Zmodo system, so that should not play into the dropout of the video feeds. It almost seems like an actual power dropout, but I can't understand why this would happen only using the mini nvr and onvif.

Mike, Is there no way to add support for http streams? Sricam does not have rtsp url to pull the video. I'm really not too worried about motion detection, I have just been hoping for a way to at least pull all my cameras video feeds so that I can record them 24/7. Thanks

Mike, I've noticed on the beta firmware that if you factory reset the NVR and then change the default blank admin password it shows user privilege as guest with no way to change it. I am also still curious if there is any way possible to add http stream support. Thank you

Have you tried to format the HDD from a PC before connecting to the NVR? I am running a powered external enclosure and also using a powered USB hub with the NVR. The HDD and a wireless mouse receiver are attached to the hub which I also use for any backups or updates using a USB flash drive. I have had no issues detecting my HDD.

Mike, Is there any chance at all of adding support for http:// streams? I am contemplating purchasing the mini nvr 2 16 channel, but it would not be worth it if I cannot have all my cameras working with it. I am also wondering what other protocols are available and which vendors products they add support for. Thanks

Thanks, I will take a look at the app.

1. All Onvif Camera can work with NVR, get video and record continuously, so first step is to make sure it is an Onvif IP Camera so that the video can be recorded by other Onvif NVR. 2. Motion Detection Need the camera to be with Standard Onvif Protocol. Many IPC manufacturers use their own Modified Onvif Protocol to make their IPC only fully compatible on their own NVR like the NVSIP, HIKVISION etc. But many other IPC manufacturer(More than 20) and us developed private protocols together to make their IPC's motion detection function work on NVR. So there are more than 20 private protocols available. If your IPC is originally from one of our partners, upload the correct protocol to NVR then the motion detection function can work. (NVSIP, HIKVISION camera still not work on Motion Detection) This is branded Sunluxy but it is likely manufactured by Wanscam. Is there protocol for Wanscam or Sricam, etc...? I'm also noticing Zmodo cameras don't seem to work on motion though my Anran cameras do.

After testing this camera with motion detection on the NVR, it doesn't appear to work. Only certain cameras will work with the NVR and motion detection. It seems we are limited to constant recording with these cameras if using with the NVR.

I have the NVR set to constantly record as I have other cameras that do not work with motion recording. The cameras themselves have to support motion recording to work with the NVR. Depending on how you have the NVR recording schedule setup you may need to set it to motion recording in case it is set for constant recording. Then you would have to set each individual camera channel on the NVRs motion settings.

Not a problem. Same to you. One thing to note. I believe this camera is sold under several different brand names such as Sricam, Wanscam, etc... I would suggest not dealing with Sricam as I have found their customer service to be abysmal. Also, make sure to select the 720p version to ensure it is onvif compliant. Some similar models are only 300k or .3mp and I am unaware if these conform to onvif. This is the lowest price I have seen on the specific model though. If you were to purchase one by another brand name I would recommend Wanscam. I have exchanged some emails with them and they seem to be very happy to assist customers and have had very fast response times.

If you're looking for an indoor pan tilt camera similar to the foscam ones you might look at this camera: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/CCTV-Wireless-Wifi-720P-HD-H-264-P2P-1MP-IP-Network-Home-IR-Security-Camera-P-T-/151349669712?pt=US_Security_Cameras&hash=item233d24af50 I purchased one of these for a cheap indoor camera and have had no issues at all with it. They are fairly cheap and do what they say and are onvif compliant. I am using mine with an ESCAM branded 8 channel mini NVR currently. The presets do not work with the mini NVR, but basic pan tilt does and the main thing is the video feed works fine. The only issue I've come across is I cannot seem to locate anywhere to check for updated firmware and software, though this hasn't really been an issue anyway.

Are you using a wired or wireless USB mouse? Have you tried both USB ports?

Mike, is there any protocol for the Sricam AP004/AP005 PTZ cameras? I cannot find any way at all to get the video feeds to display. I have had next to no luck contacting Sricam for any information on firmware updates or rtsp urls, the only url I can get to work via vlc is http:// not rtsp://, so the NVR will not pull the video.

I've only flashed the first firmware I posted directly from the NVR itself. I had no issues and my NVR is the ESCAM K108 branded one. I do have a powered USB hub plugged into the NVR which has my HDD, wireless mouse and the USB flash drive I flashed the firmware update from. The only other thing is I first formatted my USB flash drive and the only file I put on the drive was the firmware. Can you flash back to 20140417 and try directly from the NVR? Login/right click/settings/system/update browse for the 2014103009 on the flash drive.

I just updated to the 2014103009 version linked here with no issues. https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/yzyBsns3xw01lfAwinSYrhToQsurvkqheXIItSEw8W4 ESCAM, just within the last couple of hours, sent me their latest firmware and I'm assuming it is identical other than company branding on boot. Here is the ESCAM branded firmware: http://www.filedropper.com/update3520daflsallnor402014103009mini8ch Make sure your NVR has firmware version v4.0 [20140417] before updating.

Has anyone had any luck getting Sricam AP004 PTZ cameras to work with this NVR? I recently purchased 2 of these and have been emailing Sricam for over a month asking whether there is any updated firmware for these and have not had a single response from any of 3-4 support email addresses I've tried. RTSP doesn't even seem to work as these cameras feeds require link to be typed as http and the NVR overwrites this as only RSTP. The RTSP links work perfectly in VLC and similar.

Hello everyone. I figured I'd ask to make sure but the ESCAM K108 branded NVR, even though it's on v4.0 [20140417], is NOT compatible with these latest firmware posted today? I don't want to end up with a bricked device if possible. lol Thanks for any input.
