Daybreak posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Howdy, The Dahua NVR5816/5832/5864-16P-4KS2 systems work smoothly with the 8TB Purple WD80PUZX drives. Sees the drives, formats properly, and records without issues. -
Q-See QC8116-3 or HikVision DS-7716NI-SP or PC?
Daybreak replied to Joeinamillion's topic in System Design
Howdy, Q-See is a OEM distributor of Dahua products. HIKvision is a competitor -
Howdy, Went with the Costco Q-See 16 Channel HD NVR Security System The NVR is a 1.5 U and has 16 POE ports. It does come with w 3tb purple drive to start with, and has room to add 3 more drives. It comes with 9 3mp bullet camera's, so that gives you some room to purchase other types of camera's which you might want. Current system as of today; added 3 WD 4TB purple drives, 3 Dahua IPC-HFW2300R-Z, 2 Dahua IPC-HDW4300C 2.8mm, 2 Dahua IPC-HDBW4300E 2.8mm all working very smoothly so far.

Neighbor ripped the cord from my Lorex camera.
Daybreak replied to corey2444's topic in Security Cameras
Howdy, I too would say you should contact Lorex for that piece. NOTE= why are you going to fix the camera? The camera is only good if you use it for its purpose and go after the guy. Do whatever necessary and charge the person who ripped the camera out. Do not take an apology, take them to the legal system. If you don't, take the cameras down and sell them. -
IPC-HFW2300R-Z with Q-See NVR
Daybreak posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Howdy, Q-See QC8116 NVR Costco Q-SEE 16 Channel Package Dahua IPC-HFW2300R-Z 3MP 2.8-12mm Motorized Auto-Focus Zoom WeatherProof IP Camera Bullet The camera mounts, connects and works fine with the Q-See NVR. The NVR is able to control the motorized zoom and auto focus. The motion detect and recording also work as it should. The live feed and recorded video are sharp with default settings out of the box. As you know, not all systems want to behave, but this Dahua camera and branded Q-See NVR works. Quick review from table top. I will have it up and mounted later -
How to stop installer from viewing our cameras remotely?
Daybreak replied to bbinview's topic in Computers/Networking
Howdy, Before you throw to many accusations around. Read over your owners manual. Have some knowledge about the product you own. There are some factory default accounts. They have a reason for being there. If you feel you are being violated, unplug the unit from the internet, and find someone to assist you. Read up here, read your manual, and come back and ask your questions here. I am sure someone can answer here. -
Costco and Swann
Daybreak replied to bkvanbek's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Howdy, Costco has a few items, there inventory changes over time. They do not carry every single product from vendors. They carry a few which usually are priced decently for members. Costco buyers try to get a decent price from vendors to then price it to members, but sometimes the product also needs to meet a product quality standard. Since Costco has a return policy, they want a product which they can stand behind and not sell garbage which is all returned. -
Help with changing the IP address on Q-see camera.
Daybreak replied to 300winmag's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Howdy, If you have a router connected, I would look up what ip address it pulled. I can't remember off the bat what the address was, but you also need to add port 85 at the end to gain access. Q-See defaults to using a DHCP address. Log into the router and see what address it pulled use: admin password: admin check LAN connection box configure you camera -
Howdy, Dahua Security Products are OEM'd to Q-See products in the United States. Hikvision Products are OEM'd to Swann products in the United States. They are also rebranded into others as well. Both packaged products are sold at Costco and Sam's. At either Costco or Sam's club you will have they fantastic return policy. Once you have a system, you could always add other components from the manufacturer too.

Howdy, Not knowing any more than what your asking, I would suggest one of the new type WDC 2tb purple drives.

Howdy, I am new here to the forums. But, I do know how forums work. I use search. I have been busy reading and understanding the forums, and products. I really like the helpful acknowledgement about experience with products. New to CCTV stuff, but computer and network experienced.
