Updating Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P
alexf40 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows what update version is safe for me to update to? I'm currently using v3.0.10, and quite a few times something has happened which has caused my HDD to lose initialisation. I'm then unable to format it in the NVR and have to take it out and reformat it. I've ran the WD health scan and there are no issues with the drive which makes me feel there's a bug with the NVR causing this. I've noticed there is a new release V3.4.95 build170626 on the Europe website but not sure if I can update to this, as I bought my NVR from Aliexpress a few years ago. http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/?dir=portal/Product%20Firmware/Back-ends/Recorder/NVR/DS-7600NI-E1%28E2%29%207700NI-E4 The serial number has letters AARRxxxxxxxxxWCVU so I'm not sure if it's region coded or safe to update with English software etc. It's currently in English but I have no idea if it was hacked. Thanks for your help. -
Hi I have a feeling my hard drive may have failed, but not entirely sure how to actually test it without taking it out the unit? Under HDD Management > Basic Settings It shows HDD01 as grey out and non-selectable. Where it says Capacity and Free space these are both 0.00GB with Status showing Not Exist. I assume this is a problem with the drive? I've tried rebooting the NVR and it's still the same. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Alex

Cloud based storage?
alexf40 replied to Dirk_D's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I use https://au.cammy.com/, which backs up the last 30 days, also has built in monitoring. I don't have a requirement for any further storage. I just need it just in case something happens to the NVR. Also allows me easy access when out of home. -

Hi, I uploaded to the most recent version I could find, I managed to upload directly and didn't need any intermidiate firmware. Sorry I don't remember which site I downlaoded from. -
Updating Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P

Just an FYI, I took the risk and gave it a try, and I can confirm that V3.4.96 works with CH cams (V5.2.0). -
Port fowarding confusion
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks, this was where I was going wrong. I didn't realise all the cameras had to be on different ports. Cheers -
Hi I'm hoping someone can help me here, I've read all the posts but still confused. I'm trying to setup port forwarding so I can access my cameras remotely, but I'm not sure what IP address I should be using. My cameras all have static IPs, connected to a switch which in turn is connected to the router. Do I use the routers internal IP as the IP address for the forward rule? Cheers

Hikvision authorisation code
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks, will strip the camera down and have a look. Was hoping there was another way of doing it, as now it involves getting ladders out. -
Hi One of my DS-2CD2332-I cameras decided to self reset, and on trying to change it's IP address back to what I need it to be my username/password no longer work. I've tried admin and 123456 etc and can't get it to work. If I select forgot password option it asks me for an authorisation code. What do I need to do to get it or how do I hard reset it? Thanks Alex

Cammy.com, Ezviz alternatives?
alexf40 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi Cammy are no longer providing their free version of their software, I'd happily pay for it if it was cheaper but i don't believe $60pm for six cameras is a good investment and that's discounted from $15. I've also got Ezviz but it's not a particularly great application. I'd like an app which allows me to easily and quickly see when motion has been detected and the ability to then review the footage. What do you use? Cheers -

It's now been almost a year and I've just found camcloud, just wondered if anyone else had found anything which would be worth trying? -
Hikvision "reconnecting error code hcnetsdk.dll [91]"
alexf40 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, I'm having an issue with IVMS-4200. The 'Main View' shows 5 cameras working fine, but one gives "reconnecting error code hcnetsdk.dll [91]" The camera giving the error code is recording and allows me to view the record files, it also allows me to connect to the camera, but it won't show on the main view page. It works fine on the iphone app. I've tried rebooting the camera and NVR to no sucess. Any ideas? Thanks Alex -
Updating Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I still haven't dared update as I still can't find out if I have a Chinese specific NVR or not. Western Digital are going to replace the hard drive in case it's a hardware fault, looks like the firmware update will be next if I get the same issue with the new drive. -
Updating Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
With the Hikvision cameras, installing a different language firmware update e.g English on a Chinese camera will brick it. Hikvision have done this to stop people buying their cameras cheaper from China. This is what I'm concerned with, I purchased the NVR from Aliexpress years ago and I don't know if it is a Worldwide or Chinese product. The cameras I have from the same seller are a mix of both. Are the NVRs not region locked so to speak? -
Updating Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks, I know the model is supported but I don't know about the English firmware. Using the wrong language firmware is very likely to brick it. This is what I'm trying to find out as I don't know if mine is genuine worldwide model or if it's been hacked. -
Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P Hard Drive Failure?
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi Sameri, sorry I never received an alert for your message and assume you've probably fixed it by now. But for anyone else reading this, I format on windows to GPT, then the NVR recognises the drive but then it still needs to be formatted in the NVR, I use the remote configuration in IVMS-4200 to format it. -
Hikvision liveview not working in Chrome
alexf40 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, I think a Chrome browser upgrade has stopped the Hikvision camera and NVR liveview from working in Chrome. It keeps telling me to download the plugin "Please click here to download and install the plug-in. Close the browser when installing the plug-in." I've tried downloading and re-installing and still get the error message. I'm using a DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR, with V3.0.10 build 141126 is there a newer firmware I should be using? Cheers Alex -
Hikvision HiDDNS - Six cameras redirecting to One
alexf40 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, I've been trying to setup HiDDNS, I've added my six cameras fine and they all show on the hik-online.com device status screen. However on clicking on any of the device link URLs after being redirected all six unique links point to the same one camera. I'm really not sure why it is doing it and any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Alex -
Cammy.com, Ezviz alternatives?

Thanks for the reply, I had already looked at those guys. They're the same price $10 per camera per month. -
Cammy.com, Ezviz alternatives?
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi Tom, Ideally I'd like to have it backed up off premise as well. But it doesn't necessarily have to be a cloud service, it just happened that it was a great app. It allows me to quickly view all cameras last motion detection. Click on it and then preview. It works by the camera sending images one per second via FTP. Allows for very quick viewing. Cheers -
Hikvision iVMS4200 No record file found [317]
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well I should have started with the real basics! The cameras weren't recording as the hard drive was full up. However, I thought the Hikvison NVR was supposed to start erasing the oldest files when the drive was full. Any ideas where the settings are for this? Cheers -
Hikvision iVMS4200 No record file found [317]
alexf40 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, For some reason all my cameras have stopped recording within iVMS, I've just updated to the latest 2.5.1.7 version and still have the same issues. All cameras storage schedules are set to the full time event template, all cameras show fine in the main view. But I can't open any cameras in the remote playback screen, I just get the error no record file found. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Alex -
Hikvision "reconnecting error code hcnetsdk.dll [91]"
alexf40 replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Nope still having issues. Strangely it almost fixed it's self. I can now get it to show in the main view but it won't save there, I have to keep adding it everytime I load the application. BUT all cameras have now stopped recording to the NVR, none of them are creating a record file -
Hikvision camera not recording, Motion settings device error

Hiya, yeah my issue was that I didn't think that I also changed the router, the default gateway was different to what I had setup. -
Hikvision camera not recording, Motion settings device error
alexf40 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi I'm having trouble getting a Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I camera to record to my NVR. Historically it was working fine for over a year without any issues. I had to unplug it for some building work about two weeks ago, but when plugging it back in again I noticed it wasn't recording to the DS-7608NI-E2-8P (v3.0.10). No settings have changed on the camera or the NVR, it appears that all the cameras have the same settings and the other five are all fine. I've tried changing the motion detection settings directly in the camera rather than the IVMS4200 software, but on selecting save I get 'device error'. In fact I get this error across ALL the cameras, I don't ever remember this issue in the past. All the other screens allow me to save the settings. Is this an issue with the browsers blocking NPAPI plugins as I originally set everything up before the plugin was blocked? Just to clarify, in IVMS4200, live view is fine and if I press the record icon in IVMS4200 when on live view it saves a record file. But it doesn't save a record file to the NVR. The camera is detecting motion as it's uploading snapshots to my FTP fine. All the cameras have the same settings. Any ideas would be most appreciated.
