Let's hear stories. What did you guys do to your wife, sig other. I fabricated a very official looking notice from the dmv, which informed my fiancé that her driver's license had been suspended due to multiple violations. She wanted someone's head at the dmv until I told her it was a big joke.

Rory, it must be nice to relax in the sun and not have to worry about what month it is!

WirelessEye, your setup sounds good. Can you provide any more details about the design of your trailers, or would this fall under the category of proprietary information?
-
haha - eye candy. Do you have any more details on product?

...seems like that the hardest would be convincing your wife that as a surveillance professional, your own equipment was broken and you didn't know what was wrong.

Great, thanks for the info!

Thanks for all of the feedback, I am going to check into both and decide which is a better solution for my customer.

Yeah, it looks like both use algorithms to perform the tracking. Does anbody have any experience with either of these? -The software or the camera?

I know that the 300 series DVR's will move the PTZ camera to a preset on event occurence, but will the DVR actually move the camera to track the motion of a moving person? I have been looking for something like this for a while, and haven't been able to find exactly what I want.

I haven't had any personal experience with Covi but I have heard through the grapvine that the company is usually pretty responsive to customer concerns. Have you attempted to make contact with Covi Technologies? - If not, they are headquartered in Austin Texas - 1.866.292.5900. You might be able to get a rep to help you troubleshoot the situation. Good Luck!

Sal with Digital Watchguard has this card for a decent price. Not sure if he ships to the UK though. *Just a suggestion, I am not affiliated with Digital Watchguard -
That's great! I guess she will get an automatic transmission next time...

Security-wise its firefox hands down, but as far as functionality goes IE7 is great. Never had any problem with IE7, the tabs are something that should have been added to IE along time ago.

MINI LCD MONITOR WITH BELT CLIP/ADAPTER

Thanks for the suggestions. I have used a couple of cheap handheld monitors in the past and have never really been satisfied. You really do "... get what you pay for". -
Its hard to go wrong with Geovision, but like kensplace said, not enough info.

Unless the client absolutely has their heart set on a Costco system, I would try and introduce the client to a higher quality system. Unless the client is totally price focused, you can usually help them rationalize the cost/benefit ratio, and better fill the client's needs with a marginally higher priced system. The Costco system may be an easy solution for a young business to offer, but if you do a little homework, you can probably deliver a system that will have a more positive impact on your company's long-term reputation.

This happens to the toolbar on my laptop all of the time. I click in the clock area of the toolbar and drag the toolbar to where I need it. Works every time.

Try the local electronics store. Radioshack (or similiar store) usually stocks an amplifier that can handle coax and audio.
