I have just set-up a Q-See QC3016 DVR and has 8 cameras connected. Picked it up at Tiger Direct for $280 and tax. Impressed with it for the price. It was a beast to set-up and had to call support. I do have some computer knowledge, but this was way beyond me. Even their self-help videos were too generic to be helpful. It does have a buzzer built into the DVR, but there is no external connection for an additional buzzer to be installed. Some other models have an RCA output jack that can used and I have nothing. The unit is in my basement and it would be nice to wire a speaker on the main floor. I haven't opened the cover yet, but will be replacing the 500G HD with a spare 1T I have kicking around. I do have an electronics background (from the late 80's) and was wondering if anyone out there has played with this unit and adapted some sort of relay/electronics to allow an additional buzzer to be incorporated? Any suggestions would be welcome.
