I finally got Dana to work!! For some unknown reason, there are TWO different Danale apps (both made by same developer). This is the one that works: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/danale/id648733750 I had some trouble verifying my email account, but after it finally accepted the verification code, the app worked perfectly. Much smoother video and much better playback options than GooLink.

Has anyone had success getting Dana to work? Goolink works ok, but viewing recordings is clunky and Dana looks like it might work better.

Dig through this thread and you'll find a package of files and instructions on how to fix using telnet.
-
And Dana is still broken in the latest release. And I cannot enable motion detection using web interface. It hangs up after trying to save settings
-
Is i12 support not included with the latest firmware?
-
Yes registered and using iPhone app. I can try to add using QR code, and I enter the admin password (which cannot be empty, otherwise Dana app will show error) And then it fails to validate the info (says cannot connect I believe)
-
Yes I got two QR codes after enabling and rebooting. The QR code in web interface is broken (it has html string that's escaped), but after fixing broken web link I could try to add Dana using iPhone app, except it never accepts the info in Dana app (says it could not connect).

The 2015 firmware previously posted has bugs. Web control is broken in Chrome (odd menus available, had to use IE to get correct). Dana still does not work. Is there a newer firmware available?
-
After updating to 2015-01-24 firmware, do not remove "webserver" from the management platform or else you will remove web management.

although I cannot get the dana cloud app to work. I've enabled dana under management, rebooted device, added QR code to dana app, but then the app gives an error when I try to add the NVR to dana app. has anyone successfully used dana cloud app? There's a lot of empty fields under the dana configuration on the nvr (what values should go in the blank fields?)

I was able to finally upgrade to beta firmware. The first time I thought it was bricked, but it actually worked you just need to wait a long time at the boot screen when it reboots after update.
-
Yes I tried updating using USB drive.

I got that error too when trying to use outlook.com. The smtp server is smtp-mail.outlook.com, all I could figure out is it didn't like the "-" in the server address, so I switched to gmail and all was good. isn't it pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com for outlook? Oh, by the way, we are testing a new firmware 20141229 lately. 1. Updated IPC search function, 2. Support two P2P app now, Goolink and Dana (http://www.danale.com) 3. and for P2P ID we made QR Code pictures shown in the system. I don't think we will need to print all those QR code and stick it on NVR box again in the future, when the final version is officially released. I believe someone maybe wanna have a try? Make sure your firmware version is already 20141030 before trying on 20141229. 4CH and 8CH different, since it is only a test version from us we will not show it on our website, the download link is not on our web page. http://www.urcctvstore.com/Download/2014122910_mini_4ch.update http://www.urcctvstore.com/Download/2014122910_mini_8ch.update Mike I tried this on my 4 channel and it bricked it (yes I already had 20141030). I had to do telnet restore to fix it.

I've made a little more progress on getting motion detection to work, I think. For some reason I had to enable "alarm on monitor" in the motion detection settings, and now I can see the motion detection events coming in. Except now it's showing a motion event every few seconds, so it's recording continuously. Ugh I have spent so much time on this, and I still don't have motion detection working.

It sounds like you are already using an esata adapter. Post a picture of what you're using.
