Can i use RG62 cable for cctv installations
videobruce replied to Kamei's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Your RG62 is very small diameter cable isn't it? If so, for very short runs (jumper cables) will be all it will be good for. It is 75 ofm AFAIK. -
I contacted the company in NY and this unit was just placed on their web site. He said he will contact me back regarding priceing etc. I see it does have a WFM and vetorscope, so I would gather a $2k price wouldn't be out of the question.

Reverse picture and flicker problem in Multiplexer
videobruce replied to MTS's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Power down, disconnect all cameras, remove AC power for one minute to the device, re-connect one camera and power up. Then try. Is there some master reset? -

I picked up a cheapo 'Quad' processor to evaluate it off od e-bay. The current item number is; 250096441522 (the same thing is listed with other sellers). Question is; anyone know exactly who makes this and if they have a web site? There is no name on the box or the unit itself. It seems to work k, though the video level is low (.84vp-p) and a slight roll off at 4.5 MHz. There are two other versions of this. A four channel and a "Mini-Quad" without the 232 port. This one is 8 channel.

This application has no need for recording. Would I be better off with a DVR (w/o a HDD) or just a Processor for a four camera system?

Low cost 'Quad' processor off e-bay
videobruce replied to videobruce's topic in General Digital Discussion
No one has comments on this? Ok then, two questions; 1. Can anyone recomend a low cost Quad processor without the DVR? 2. Or is it better (even if no DVR is needed to get a DVR without any HDDs' just for the processor? -
Benchmark test of Leading Brand of CCTV Cameras
videobruce replied to mcs's topic in Security Cameras
To sum it up; 'Achieved' is the actual number of lines and 'Accuracy' is the percentage of the published spec? How about tests with first the base model and then the advanced model (the one that is 2x the price and all the features with the same chip and circuit board)? Most manufactures have a model in the $170 price range and the $350-$400 range. Same camera, but with added features. Question is; is 2x more REALLY worth the price? -
I am, but it's still costly for a trial and error method. I really don't believe in telling the customer "I used these cameras before and they are great" when I haven't, nor do I want to tell him "I never used these before, I'll have to see what they will look like" either.

What is the "Image Resolution Accruacy" vs the "Image Resolution Achieved"?? -
That Difinitron is around $565.
-
That gets expensive for a small shop. Even buying and returning adds up. Of the five monitors I have three are CRT with NO comb filters, one is a DLP RPTV and the other is a LCD HD set. The one I use for evaluation is a 1080p 50" DLP and being a fixed panel display doesn't do analog inputs as well as a high end CRT.

Low cost 'Quad' processor off e-bay

It does have a "Techwell TW2824Q" chip which is the model number of the circuit board. The address is: 'techwellinc dot com' (since I can't post links). -
Oh, it's a Wonwoo! (High end MCM) ......and expensive. Anyone know the price (US) for it and that EWM40? They are two completely different products.

There are two trade show 'stickys' in the 'General Digital Discussion' forum dated 2005. Don't you think those are rather dated??

Sounds as a nightmare to enforce. I'm sure these club owners will be crying poverty (after they collect their $5 to $8 a drink tab).

Never heard/saw/knew anything about this. Nice info. I wasn't claiming 12v was better, just looking for other reasons for 24.

There is also this one from MCM Electronics. MCM Part #: 82-11560

I just started here myself. Just wait. -
Please explain this one. (PS; I did mention the polarity advantage .)

Who's greasing who??
-
Yea, but why?? Proof is in the pudding. Just saying is better tells us nothing. Please, reasons other than what I listed (assuming I'm correct with them).

I know this is a older thread, but: Let me understand this correctly; This spec of 'resolution' with a CCTV camera is only based on the number of pixels on the chip, not the actual measured output resolution of the camera??
