and the above 2 photos are from a real use of this excellent H264 footage I love the way manuf etc at Trade shows pump HD TV into the DVR's to demo, its not a real life testbed is it? Can you tell me who these " reputable manufacturers " are ? as i havnt found any yet with their H264 claims and i've tried a lot in last year

You will struggle as you found out to find a dvr that will match JPEG2000 on playback quality I have been using these for 8 years + and have tried all the big boys and the small ones. I have dropped you a PM Chris with some information that may be usefull to you

IR lighting can be a pain as well if not setup correct I tend to setup the D/N camera on site and return at night with IR iluminator to test locations fr IR illuminator to be sited, most are sideways to camera view casting across the image this i find tends not to leave peoples faces like a ball of glare, to be honest i prefer Halogen light to get the camera back to Colour if possible but alas the big IR companies are more concerned about saving the inviroment and selling £1000 piddly IR lluminators. 2.8mm lens is wide angle general observation lens 6mm is closer to object of view so more detail and better qulaity image My advie on Lens use Vari-focal all the time for all the extra cost, 3-9mm is minimum i will use that way you can set the camera better. Longford is mad place to find things, was down there doing some work few weeks back

My advice screw open face, emove IR board put face back on, fit a seperate illuminator ... job done I havent fitted a IR on board camera in 4 years and never will, nothing but issues with fogging and spiders webbing all over them, why do companies make these? I've tried everything from a £50 camera unbranded to £400 quid Samsung and all same issues

Have you contacted Geovison about the not supported issue? Where are you in Gods country ?

Splitter for using multiple monitors
Neutech replied to rupertotech's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
If the composite output is available i'd use that Run it into a Video Dist amp, you can get 2-4-8-16-32-64 output versions and Composite is a lot more forgiving than VGA over distance and cost is cheaper for Video Dist amp than a quality VGA Dist unit -
Try running in XP mode on vista only way i can get most to work Hello from over the water

Could you supply EPOS resellers with a CCTV solution?
Neutech replied to EPOS MAN's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
As long as your company can actually configure the Tills to allow Data recovery units to be installed then not a big problem My previous experience (20years+) has shown that most "EPOS" companies simply rebadge an off the shelf solution, fine until you try to interface with data capture solution then it all goes to pot Do you write the OS and software? There are a number of issues to look at as well I have worked along with a few large names on this over the years. What area of UK do you cover? Regards -
Your call at end of the day What do you think about it? Its not not in same league as Samsung/Eneo/DM etc
-
come out of PC video card and into modulator inline with TV Dist amp you already have, tune spare channel on TV to view Why use a multiplexer? If your going to composite to each TV you'll need a CCTV dist 4 way amp, again come from Video card Comp output into CCTV dist amp and then feed to each TV AV input

are you Trade ?

Integrating Retail POS system with DVR
Neutech replied to SambaNoodles's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Since you already have the geovision installed seems bit crazy to start looking elsewhere plus the geovision is fantastic at EPOS You need to check if the Tills are auto receipt printing or if they only print receipt on demand The connection from the V3E data capture is normally inline between Terminal and Printer Contact the EPOS supply company as im sure they will have dealt with this before and should be able to give you the correct information Tech Support from Geo is normally excellent -
I have few customers who are total MAC heads and refused to change yet wanted remote view from thei DVR's Solution win xp installed on the MAC so they now have duel OP system but all works 100%

Hi Tony welcome to forum , good site for cctv info are you trade or enduser?
-
You have a 6 way loftbox with CCTV input like labgear or triax You need a composite output from DVR - the monitor output BNC and take a coax from this to a Modulator, stick with Labgear or Triax again as qulaity and stable units, then come out of the modulator into the CCTV input on Loftbox/splitter Watch the gain on the Modulator as it may need turned down or picture is over powered and looks a mess, there is a gain pot screw on back of the Modulator set the channel on the Modulator to something away from your normal terestreal TV stations and tune a TV to that channel
-
yes you can use a computer hard drive but dont expect it to last Seagate SV35 are designed for the job of 24/7 use hence the 5 year warrenty what make of DVR? as some have the drives coded as for the jerky motion detect, fit a proper external PIR or beams an connect to relay on back of DVR for proper motion detect, whats it like on continues record mode?

Recommended video intercom system for 300gbp
Neutech replied to dannyboy80's topic in General Digital Discussion
Whats your location Danny? Video door entry system is all in one solution for you but you could be pushing it for 1 door station and 3 monitors, you might end up with 1 video monitor and 2 audio handsets in the other locations. also remember to factor in a mag lock to keep door locked What sort of door is this being fitted to? I can point you in right direction if we know where you are in UK Cheers -
hey up slim over he water from you welcome to the forum
