Where are you located Colin? UK? There are Digital Modulators out on the market over a year now but having installed one for a customer 6 months ago they are very expensive Go with Analogue for now and worry about it when you change TV but most new TV still have Analogue on them as well as Digital Or use a CCTV dist amp and cable to each TV with RG59 and into a Scart/Phono input

When set to schedule you do not need to push record button bud That is what the issue possibly is on your unit It will record by its self as per scedule wether its motion or perminant

What sort of Router is it? I've had issues with BT Homehubs V3/V4 A where the ports are opened but when i check with port check tool they are closed,BT Tech even did them a few times ans same issues, DMZ the IP to start with see if that allows you to view then look at changing the router is what i normally do, i know some providers block certain ports as well so change the defaults

Neutech replied to Dannyhawkeye's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Have you done system restore ? Tried connecting the BNC of one camera straight to Scart / Phono to check cameras are actually working? Tried logging into the DVR on web on LAN? Its in QVIS/Dahua style case but the insides could be anything -
400ma draw and your giving it 1.4A ...... sounds like there is an issue somewhere, how far is cable run from PSU to Camera? Have you tried pluging the camera into a monitor direct at night or when covered? Hook up a direct 5A PSU to the camera and see how it goes

What current does the Camera require with IR on? What Size PSU is it connected to? Change the PSU to larger unit to provide the correct current, cover the camera up in daytime to check its working saves waiting until night time What is the DVR ? Could be a setting in the DVR which if camera is covered will show a video loss warning

Neutech replied to hiwatt's topic in General Digital Discussion
Was it on motion record previous ? Id say your HD is on its way out and im guessing its an older IDE unit but you can fit SATA to IDE adaptor and use a newer SATA drive -
Same as NN have ran these 25ft no issues or HDMI version up to 75ft but you need 2 x cat6 cables for that

New hard drive installation.
Neutech replied to aliciac's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
1gb wont last long....Im guessin you mean 1TB Thats and older AVTECH DVR and if the manual states 500GB max then i would exceed that, also the LV PSU are normally rated for the the max size HD If its an IDE unit you will not get a new IDE HD as they have eben off market for a long time but what you can do is buy a normal SATA HD pref designed for AV use i.e. Segate SV35 etc and use and SATA to IDE convertor same as this - -
dump your IT TECH mate to start with....like most have met over the years who 'think' they know all about cctv Where in UK are you?

£400 to spend - Recommendations Needed
Neutech replied to bkz187's topic in General Digital Discussion
Honestly £400 will not get you what you are asking for Everyone seems to think Infra Red is a must have.....personally i havnt used a camera with IR onboard in over 6 years and never will unless you want to spend every couple of days cleaning the spiders off the front of them. Look at the lighting structure in your enviroment, use of security lights in correct locations and positions mean your camera will give you a full colour true image not a IR image in B&W that looks like a pile of glare. You want to catch numberplates......£400 wouldnt even come close for a camera to do that never worry about the rest of the system, Im not saying you cant build a system on a budget but you need to increase what you want to spend Where in UK are you located? -
IR Illuminators Installation, RayTek, where to buy
Neutech replied to MR2's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
That unit you tested is good, have used them before and the raytec and sorry but the raytec is overpriced. Did you measure the distance to area you are trying to illuminate? 60 deg narrow pattern probably not what you need to start with
