Yahoo! Babel Fish Of course, it isn't perfect: Re-translated German back to English: Merrily, I receive people of nearly all industries, which are happy to make rather good money by writing well again or sometimes excellent translations here seems of ours and of none to be interested. Think now approximately 100-200 dollars for straight do some hours per day, which you can do best. Re-translated Spanish back to English: Funny, with himself to people of almost all the industries that are happy for doing good the money quite good rewriting or the sometimes excellent translations ours and of anybody seem here to be interested. Now it thinks near 100-200 dollars as soon as to do of some hours per day what you better can do. -
For PTZ control, RS422 and RS485 can usually be substituted for each other. The main difference is that RS485 is a bi-directional protocol whereas RS422 is only one way. Not a real difference for PTZ control since that is usually only one way unless the PTZ has audio or you are using the alarm contacts.

"0" latency for analog vs. 200+ms for IP.

Are you using Coaxitron or RS422? If using RS422, is the dome drive's termination switch to "ON"? SW2 Switch 10: Termination Setting When connecting more than one Spectra IV dome system to a single controller, terminate the unit farthest from the controller. Termination is only required for the last dome in the series. The dome drive is shipped from the factory in the unterminated (OFF) position. To terminate the dome drive, set SW2-10 to the ON position.

What is right reference for resolution D1 / HD1 / CIF ....
survtech replied to spe99's topic in General Digital Discussion
The way I learned it is: Format_____Video Resolution CIF/SIF(525)___352 x 240 CIF/SIF(625)___352 × 288 4CIF/4SIF(525)_704 x 480 4CIF/4SIF(625)_704 × 576 D1(525)_______720 x 480 D1(625)_______720 x 576 * Sometimes 4SIF/4CIF is specified the same as VGA, which is 640 x 480 / 640 x 576. * There is also 1/2 frame or 2CIF, which is based on removing the odd or even fields and is usually specified as either 640 x 240 or thereabouts. -
Best selection Outdoor PTZ in theme park.

I've used Pelco Spectra PTZs for years and would highly recommend them. But forget local IR. Isn't the place lit at night? -
I say, "Good Luck and Thanks for all the Fish" Seriously, many of his LinkedIn posts are also what I would call inflammatory.

Multimeter Recommendations
survtech replied to SEANHAWG's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I used to have a Fluke Model 12 but it was stolen. Nice meter that had some special features: "Continuity Capture (12 only): locates intermittent opens and shorts as brief as 250 's and identifies them in a symbolic display as a short-to-open or open-to-short transition Min/Max recording with relative time stamp, records the highest and lowest voltage readings during a 100-hour period (12 only). Those features alone were worth the slight price premium. Saved a lot of time locating intermittents. It could also measure capacitor values - a big help for bench testing. Wish I could find another relatively inexpensive DMM with similar features. -
With analog audio, unless the mic and receiver ends are specifically designed for CAT5 ("balanced" output/input), shielded wire is required to prevent hum and noise. There are audio baluns that can transmit audio over utp.
-
WOW!!! I hope the floor's not concrete!
-
What cable does the manufacturer recommend? If you're transporting analog audio, it usually calls for shielded cable. We use 22/2 shielded.

Directly overhead shots work best for most cash counting, handling and storage applications. They should be placed approximately above the line between the cash boxes and where someone would stand. That takes care of the hands and the criss-cross overviews can be used to ID the person standing there.

1/2" vs. 2/3" lens
survtech replied to mike_va's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
6mm = 6mm = 6mm. The focal length would say the same but the image would appear closer on smaller imagers (6mm = 90+ degree HFOV on a 1" imager, 72 degree HFOV on a 2/3" imager, 56 degree HFOV on a 1/2" imager, etc.) Of course, if you put a lens made for a 1/3" camera on a 1/2" camera, the picture would have a tunnel effect, ie. it wouldn't fill the frame - like looking through a telescope. The opposite is acceptable, though. -
The BBB is useless IMO. I found out through bitter experience that they really aren't out to protect the consumer so much as to line their pockets through membership fees. Example: Rip-off Report "BBB treats companies that are BBB members COMPLETELY differently than companies who are not BBB members. They are extremely unfair to companies who do not pay the yearly BBB fee and yet let companies who are BBB members get away with so much."
-
Beg to differ... 99% of the domes in that price range have AGC that's always on (can't be turned off). Most also don't have full 3-axis capability. Those are deal killers in my industry.

Sorry, I can't comment on their bullet cameras and we don't need day/night in the casino. All I know is that their VTC-C770WS is specifically designed for casino use and works as well as, or better than, the alternatives at a much lower price point and their VTD-A2812/I indoor dome costs exactly the same as Pelco's C10CH-6 box camera and includes a 2.8-12mm A/I lens and enclosure for that price. Typical mini-domes from other manufacturers with the same lens and feature set cost $70 to $150 more. As they say in the business: YMMV.
-
I can't link to that to either agree with or refute the discussion - "You are not authorised to read this forum." All I can say is that we have installed at least 150 of them with only one problem unit - it failed to focus well.
-
We just started using the VTD-A2812/I indoor domes in the past few months. We've already installed around 150 of them during our remodel. Only one bad one so far. The internal "ball" aiming mechanism takes a bit of getting used to but allows great flexibility in aiming. The only downside is a slight difficulty adjusting and locking the focus knob due to lack of clearance. Pricing is excellent - far less than most of the competition and on the order of many inexpensive box cameras alone. We've also tested the VTC-C770WS box camera and were impressed with its picture quality and capabilities. A bit pricey compared to the Pelco C10 and Ikegami ICD-505 cameras but cheaper than most other high-quality Pixim WDR box cameras. It also fits in Pelco DF5 domes - a huge plus for us. We haven't done much with Bosch. Their box cameras are too big to fit in DF5's. Never tried their mini domes.
-
We've used the ICD-505 box cameras and the ISD-A30 domes; mostly with good results. They're very well made, as evidenced by their 5 or 10-year warranties, but the company does tend to be a bit slow in their development cycle. We've never had one fail. The ICD-505's have excellent picture quality at lower light levels than some other analog box cameras; which is where we often deployed them. But their AGC is on all of the time, causing somewhat "muddy" pictures at medium light levels (like many others) and making them unsuitable for critical lower-light applications like table games. The ISD-A30's do have adjustable iris and AGC but pictures can be darker than some cameras give with AGC minimized on some medium-dark scenes. Both tend to be on the expensive side. We have found other suitable options at far better pricing (Vitek, for one).

Do Mobotix cameras and/or Control Center have the capability to save recordings on the internal SD Memory, then download them to a server on a schedule (at a pre-selected time when little network traffic is expected)? If not, are there other camera systems that can?
