Had the 30X PTZ for nearly 2 years with out issue. but last night sitting at my desk I noticed it had gone offline. I went to the closet unplugged POE+ as well as the ethernet cables to it for a few minutes before reconnecting and plugging back in. Still nothing was not coming back online so went out to check the camera. The camera seemed to be power cycling and rotating up and down and seemed to be bottoming it self out at the upper position and making a chattering sound. I then went back and unplugged it again until I can look further into it in the daylight. My first thought and hope is that maybe the POE+ injector is going bad, but more likely an issue in the camera.Does anybody have any suggestions or know maybe what may have happened?

IS it imposible to convert DAV file on a Mac?

I have downloaded and tried several apps claiming to do video converting without any luck finding one to convert my Dahua DAV files to a viewable format. Any Ideas? -
I am having cable internet installed after many years of DSL, the only problem is I do not have any coax run in the house only cat5/6. I do have cat 6 run into my garage with a jack where right now I have a security camera plugged in. If I took a http://www.intellinet-network.com/en-US/products/1147-2-port-modular-distributor at each end garage/office router could I get the signal to my router from the modem and still have a port from my router connected to the camera or wifi extender in the garage? I hope I am being clear enough here. I would like to just run coax to a wall plate in the office but it's in a difficult location and multiple attic crawl spaced to deal with. Thanks

Dahua SD59230S-HN 30x PTZ losing contact
BGinFL posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
After hooking my new camera Wednesday night and never having any luck connecting to the server even though the camera seemed to be powered up a gave up and went to bed, I got home last evening ready to troubleshoot and there it was connected and working. I played around with it for a while PTZing well after dark and everything working fine. I got busy for a bit and came back to notice the screen saying Can Not Find The Network Host again. The camera is still powered up as I see the bright IR lighting up the dock via another camera on the network. It came back on line briefly again for about 10 minutes then gone but still powered up. Any ideas what maybe going on here? Thanks -

E-mail (SMTP) how to
BGinFL replied to Caporeira's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Depends on how you setup it... I get three separate emails one that tells me motion detected, then one with the photo, then one that says motion stopped. All 3 come in at same time. -

Thanks to this old thread I was able to get my camera set up, but is it normal for it to send three emails for each event? -
This will only work on a PC running Chrome not a Mac, correct?

Just purchased a NVR and some cameras from SC-King. I was told by a friend that if I setup the NVR and the cameras on my current network and router I will bog it down He advised to get a switch and run the NVR to it and from it to the router then run another cable to a POE switch up in attic from the same switch the NVR is connected to. Sounds confusing and not sure if necessary. I would have the NVR handle all the network traffic from the cameras on a separate Gateway or subnet or separate network from my internet and smart TV's so on. Is this something I really need to do more research on or can I get by running it all through the current network.
