Yeah buddy, I tried to. I dawdled for a while before deciding on the setup. Was trying to save on cost... had a time sensitive need for CCTV which unfortunately is related to budget concerns as well. The last decision was a BI PC versus dedicated NVR, that decision came purely down to cost. I knew from the get go I wanted IP which helped rule out a good bit of choices Friend works for one of the boxed CCTV manufacturers, could have got a nice price on an NVR but was only 4 channel and I had bigger needs

Hey everyone, New guy here, have been reading for a bit. Just installed small CCTV system at the house.. Dahua NVR4216 along with a bunch of HIKVision 3MP cameras so far - 3 Turrets, one dome, one bullet at the moment. I'm in the IT field so the cabling and setup aspect of IP cameras was natural to me. Loving the setup, no complaints on much. Just registering up to say thanks and also offer help where I can. Hopefully I'll figure out how to make the 'Easy Space' bit work .. only mystery for me so far.
