Maybe your UPS is broken (not giving a constant power output??)? Try to replace the UPS or use the NVR without the UPS for two weeks to test if the current UPS is causing the downtime.

Do you have a branded (Cotier) or unbranded mini NVR? In case of unbranded: Did you try the recovery file method located at the following site: http://www.urcctvstore.com/Download.html ? Recovery File (for N6200-4E/8E,N6200-4EL/8EL,6100-4EP/8EP,N6100-4EP,8EP) DownloadHow to Use Rebooting tools Put the 4 recovery files + the firmware update 20150124 on a USB flashdrive and flash it again?

Mike can you tell us what brand cameras work with the i8,i8s, and i9 profiles that are default in the firmware. I want to add more cameras and would like to purchase ones that will work flawlessly with my mini. I added the i12 to my mini to make my Escam's work, but i12 is not satisfactory. Buy the cameras from Aliexpress at his store?? It states:
-
No, you have to manually upgrade the mini NVR with the i12 (or i13) update file (look for the last dropbox link). Don't know the possible effects of using it, but it works for the escam cameras.
-
Never turn it off? Well, it's only three~five seconds work when you use a mouse to switch to 4 channels, well depending that you don't have a password set on your user account.
-
Hmm, after trying again and looking at the settings it seems that the Stream type changed to 1280*960 after turning it back to 1280*720 the multiview in the playback menu works again.

That 'sensor' page is used for external sensors, so if you have a PIR sensor or a doormagnet sensor or any other sensor connected to the DVR. In that case the DVR will be in alarm modus when the sensor has been triggered. Strange that the motion triggered recording is still not working....
-
Well, I don't think those cameras are waterproof, so mounting it outside would not be very nice for the cameras. But if you really cannot increase your budget, I think you are better off with Zmodo (shipped from Germany) and a bit of support on the internet... You can buy Zmodo™ 8CH 960H DVR Kit 4 600TVL Outdoor Dome Home Security Camera CCTV System for 100 pound on ebay. Well depending on the purpose (observe (analog?) (detail not important) or identify(IP camera)), its a better choice to invest in an IP system.

Cant unlock DVR password without remote
unix1992 replied to littleg15uk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hmmm that is a very simple interface.... well found this: http://www.yourepeat.com/watch/?v=cib44E1sozk <<< something about the interface, seems to be some settings on the right and at the bottom of the screen about the admin password. Manufacturer seems to be 'Verified Supplier - Mvteam Industrial Limited', try to send them a mail at Alibaba? google search -
Hmm, in that case the costco is better than the samsung, well he can always return it if it's not suitable.

Cant unlock DVR password without remote
unix1992 replied to littleg15uk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hmm never tried that to one of the systems I installed, do you have an analog camera? But can you make the picture of the web interface? -
Analog is not HD, well there is an exception, but he is better off investing in an IP system. Increase his budget to 900 dollar and he has a much better system at Costco. The image quality of the 300 dollar costco is comparable to the Samsung I think, reliability is an other story.

Cant unlock DVR password without remote
unix1992 replied to littleg15uk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Uhh, could you please post a screenshot, since the web interface is most of the time used as an external viewer/recorder/playback thing, but in most cases there should also be a settings menu, user control and such. With the help of google translate you can try to figure out the Italian. Please make pictures with your mobile, and post them here. -
Looking for proven combo Outdoor CAM w/ External PIR sensor
unix1992 replied to tommytuna's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Install an active waterproof infrared sensor, put it 80CM height hidden if possible. I think it's better to install a real alarm system (with door sensors at each door or window) instead of focusing on the motion detection of the camera. Well a camera system can have a deterrent effect. Well the downside of having an alarm system is that it's too late when the alarm has been triggered, well in case that you don't have some sensors outside, since the burglar managed to get inside your home. By having a active infrared sensor between some walls (to access the door) or at the entrance of the garden or halfway you can be alerted earlier so the damage is minimized, however the risk of a false positive is a bit higher (bird, cat, animals, childrens). -
Cant unlock DVR password without remote
unix1992 replied to littleg15uk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Well, we are having a start: Please turn you antivirus off for the moment, just for installing the ActiveX component Log in to your modem/router Look for the internal IP address of the modem in the client list Open internet explorer Internet options > security Security > Trusted sites > Add the internal IP address of the DVR Set the security of trusted sites at low >> so at the bottom Set the compatibility mode one for the internal IP address Install the ActiveX component or other software that is required by the DVR Login ??? But here is another thread about installing a cab file viewtopic.php?t=22037 -

Cant unlock DVR password without remote
unix1992 replied to littleg15uk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hmmm strange that the router is not showing the wired connections in the client list, please try to isolate the problem. So disconnect your wireless router from the internet and turn the wifi off. Connect your pc/laptop to the router using an old fashioned network cable and apply the same for the DVR, so there are only 2 hardwired connections. Check, if the network led indicators of both ports are blinking or not? Look if your laptop or the DVR are listed on the client list. -
Thanks for sharing , I am now 1 week on the firmware of October and the HDD is still going strong instead of dropping after a few days.

Current UK Law regarding residential CCTV and RIPA
unix1992 replied to greenphotos's topic in Security Cameras
I think you can better ask the police or laywer for advice. But first tell your neighbours the reason why you have the cameras bit pointed to the roadway. Since, it is most likely that your neighbours will complain about it (http://www.problemneighbours.co.uk/what-can-we-do-about-neighbours-cctv-camera.html). But here is also a discussion: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-857472.html -
Cant unlock DVR password without remote
unix1992 replied to littleg15uk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Post a screenshot of the Internet Explorer page when you are in the internal ip address . I assume you have the internal op address, since you are trying to telnet it? -
A- only by using the web interface of the dvr or an mobile app B- not possible due to limitations of the system when looking at pictures in the manual. Try something to find with snapshots when alarm has been triggered and send snapshot when email is sent in your settings. C- try to look on the website of ispy about the url, try the urls of zmodo to see if it works. http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Zmodo

TI368 based cameras UC2 software - REVIEW
unix1992 replied to dalepres's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks dalepres, always interesting to see some pictures instead of relying on pictures that are always the same at each product of the seller on aliexpress. And not everyone can buy the Swann set at Costco, since there are a lot of international people here wandering on the forum and Costco does not ships to every country. Well it's a review and the cameras are already bought (with full consciousness about the risks of importing, if you look at the other posts). I think some people, like me for example, think it's useful to have a 'honest' review about the ti sensor and the underlying software. Of course we know that if you want to be safe with warranty and support you just try to buy everything (known brand if possible) locally or on the Internet in your own country. We know that data and hikvision have a very good value for the money, but just like Don Stephens opened in that other topic, since diversity is always nice to look at: I'll put it another way. I'm sick of looking at still shots from everyone's Hikvision 2032. -
Cant unlock DVR password without remote
unix1992 replied to littleg15uk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Buy a switch or router and set it at the place of the dvr. But wait before you do that, try this first. You have the dvr now in your house right with Internet access I assume otherwise you couldn't post here. Connect the dvr to a modem or router with a Internet cable. Ask your neighbour if they have a Windows laptop and that you can lend it for 30 minutes. Follow the steps from the previous steps, so you can access the Web interface of the dvr. Log in, since you know the password right? . Now the real thing begins... Go to the settings and change the admin password to nothing. Click on apply and ok. Live long and happily ever after? -
Two dropcams, three 5 volt powerbank (that can be used while charging) , 12 volt to triple 5 volt usb charger, 3g/4g modem with hotspot function and a unlimited data service with preferred 4g. Furthermore a dropcam annual subscription, I think? Yes, it is possible...using the right tools.

Cant unlock DVR password without remote
unix1992 replied to littleg15uk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Well, why would you want to configure it by using the dvr, while you can do the same thing with Web interface (Windows only, so does not work on Linux or Mac). My experience is that the ActiveX component can be downloaded from the dvr itself. To watch the cameras using a client software, you can try to look on the website of zmodo. On their support page they have the client software for 4 different interfaces, try them all to look if one is suitable? Even without the password, you can always use the lcd screen as live monitor. When you want to do something else, you can use the Web interface. Of course it's difficult when you don't have a remote. The only way to bypass that is to try remotes from other unbranded/unknown/generic dvrs and check if one is working. But this process is time consuming and not everyone has access to several remotes at a surveillance company. So, I would recommend you to use the Web interface instead if focusing to reset the device.
