Large system and a newbie - what else can go wrong?

So I did find a moderate priced 32 channel IP system, with NVR, BUT I need a router between cameras and NVR. Is this as simple as getting some 10/100/1000 routers and daisy chain them? 32 port rounters seem to be out of our price range.
  2. I am searching for what I am sure is a rather odd system. Total cameras will be from 64-96, ideally closer to 96. Outdoors, 0 lux night vision, bullets. System will only be used 20 nights a month, an average of 5 hours per night, so even though it's a lot of cameras, there only needs to be 100 hours or so storage space per camera. No need to save old footage. I am not opposed to having three, 32 camera systems, and then view each of the NVRs over a network. Obviously I would also need software to control this. For cost reasons I probably would not go with IP cameras. Focal range with normally be 10-15' from camera. I have looked until my eyes have bled, and just get more confused. Even started looking at Chinese systems! Of course I want to go the most cost effective route while still having great footage to view. Any clarification needed, feel free to ask. Any hints, recommendations or whatever would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you, Karl Fields
