  1. Hello, I had a couple questions and wanted to get your thoughts on. I have a retail client that contracted me to replace their old 24v analog DVR/cameras with a newer 12v AHD system. The old systems had a camera watching the front registers, and above the registers was a PVM monitor showing the front counter in the display. These older PVMs are not working with the new AHD system and from what I can gather, the reason is that they are analog PVMs and wont work with an AHD system. Is this correct? Are there PVMs that I can install that will work with my AHD system? My DVRs have a CVBS bnc on the back, can this be used to a PVM to display the front counter?
  2. Ok I am having issues. I'm sure its because I am a Noob at all this. Here is my system. iVMS-4200 v2.00.08.50 set up on a dedicated PC iVMS Stream media Server v.4.0.0.3 (4) HikView DS-2cd2132-i FW 5.2.0 Cameras are installed and working great viewing wise. My problem is that none of the cameras are logging. They are not recording on a schedule, Audible Warnings not working (if that option is even available for me), they will however send me an email when a event happens. Are these features locked out for some sort of licensing? Do I need to purchase a server version? I will be working on a FTP server and being able to view my system with the remote app, but that's my later project after I get the above issues solved. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. KJ

    Another New Guy

Hello all, A quick blurb about me, I have my own business doing commercial IT. I have been doing it since 2008 and have two techs working for me. I have been involved in commercial IT since 2000 however. I have installed camera systems in some past installations, but never the configuration side, that was always done by remote administrators. I recently decided I wanted to add security camera systems to my offerings for my company, which brings me here to this forum. I purchased 4 cameras and installed them at the office for my "lab" to work with. I have some questions, and will post those in the right sections, but I just wanted to say hello here and look forward to tapping into the knowledge base here.
