What kind of battery starts your quad? Is it a kick start? http://eclipsecctv.com/ECL-MX12070_rechargeable_battery.html I do not know what kind of riding you do. You can mount it on the quad for just "trail" riding. If you ride through woop de doos, and "off road" condititions then you will be very disapointed in the video!! Do you want to watch what your own eyes see, or do you want to watch video from the perspective off hard riding a quad?? When you are going down a woop, or a hill, or in to a crater then you are viewing the ground, and when hitting a jump, or coming out of a crater all you are seeing is blue sky (or grey if it is raining). When you are hitting the woop de doos at high speed and your hands feel like they are hitting a 60 cal machine gun then imagine what the video is going to look like!! Your body is going to compensate for alot of the "mechanicals" between you, and your quad. Mounting to a quad is as easy as using metal "duct" tape for A/C. You can always mount it behind a piece of plexiglass, and get some tear aways if you are riding in the mud. Mounting advice would be based on: Who is watching your footage? Will you be editing the footage? Do you want it to look like what you would see on ESPN? What are you going to play back the video on?

You can take any bullet (non IR) camera and you can attach it to your helmet with hook, and loop tape, or known as Velcro. Run the wires down the back of your neck. You can use any kind of hand held video recorder. Watch out for the video players that go in to a sleep mode when there is no activity. Those with built in mics will allow you to record your cusswords prior to the crash. Most of the video I have seen of crashes it appears the most famous words are "Oh Poop" followed by a very large noise, and grunts of pain, (that is if you still have your breath)! With helmets you can side mount them, or you can top mount them. On the helmet use a very large piece. This will allow you to make angle changes. Once you view the video you may notice that you are always viewing "above the horizon" or "below the horizon". The large piece will allow you to move the camera forward of the top of the helmet to give you a lower of the horizon view, or to move the camera back to give you an above the horizon look. The helmet is curved, and this is why the view is off. You may put the camera on the helmet while your leg acts as a kick stand, but your body has a particular stance to keep the bike "in balance" while you are riding. Personal water crafts such as Sea Doo's are a little harder to record. Most do not wear helmets so this leaves you strapping it to your vest, or wearing a head band with the camera mounted to the head band. Splashing is the worst part, but you can overcome this with a product similiar to Rain X . For water craft I recommend getting the sports style products rather than the DIY "project". The connections are water proof, and they usually come with a built in mic that is water proof on the camera cable that is close enough to pick up your voice when it is worn on the head. If you shoulder mount it you can still get the mic close to your neck near your mouth.

Has anyone upload sound files, and changed the sounds your computer makes? I like to mess with my wife everynow and then. I will take the alarm sound from AVAST threat, and I will move the sound file. When she uses the computer all of a sudden the alarm sound comes blasting over the speakers freaking her out! I once took a screen shot of the desk top. I then brought up the screen shot. My wife was trying to click on her icons and nothing would happen. I finally had to say something as she was about to throw the mouse at the screen I think. Maybe I shoud try the screen shot of the blue screen of death. I like the program has the blue screen of death as a screen saver!!! LOL!

This has been one of my favorites! http://www.entity.cc/edit-desktop-icon.php I can take a picture of a product from a distributor, and the picture becomes the icon for that company. My DVR provider's desktop shortcut has a picture of a (you guessed) DVR! I have this camera as the icon to this company. http://avssys.net/?s=product&sub=camera&cat=outdoor&p=vnd49ir You can use family photos to goto family websites. _____________________________________________________________ Drag the windows taskbar to be two rows high rather than one and you can get the day and the date underneath the time. If you want to see the day of the week as well as the date when you hover over the clock, open the Regional and Language Options control panel. Next to English click Customize and change the Long Date format on the Date tab. It usually say dd mmmm yyyy. You need to click after dd and type in dddd to get the full day (monday) or ddd to get the abrev (mon)

Need entry in to 2nd menu of DS2 (some good DM links)
scorpion replied to scorpion's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Allright! How come someone did not tell me that I need to go in to http://192.168.0.200/webpages/index.shtml Then put in an ADMIN LEVEL Password. Apparently all of the passwords they have are not Admin Level, and I am locked out from the setup, and network menus. This will be fun! -
PC based DVRs are not my forte, but I wanted to welcome you to the forum!!

I am feeling it real good now! All I get are the simple menus on the DM DS2. I need to get to the network page of the menu! I get the Alarm & Camera Status Time & Date Schedule From the front panel I see no way of logging in with Admin Rights to see the other menus to get to network section. I went in on the Network viewer. I can create a new user name with Admin rights therefore I am assuming (yes I know what they say) that I am logging in with admin rights, but when I select menu on the viewer I still get the simple menus. This will be fun for me to figure out! I think I just need a bigger hammer!! -

I apologize for the sarcasm as I only meant to play the "Devil's Advocate". I did write it that way, but it was more intended for the readers of the thread who do not have your expertise. I would not want some one to end up with a voided warranty because of some stupid fine print. I know it may not be the case for you, but I in the past have had electronic devices that would lose a warranty for using "other" parts. Like you say, but in my case. What is the difference between one resistor, and one from another source? Like you say, they just want your money! Which reminds me to check my oil, or I lose my 100,000 warranty! You make some good points in your thread! Oh, and yes, congradulations on your price!!! -

Yes, that would really suck to have a voided warranty on something like a little transformer issue! What does one do?? -

It is def a problem with the router. I have heard of this before. Do you have another router you can swap out for testing? What kind of DVR do you have?

Hoped you helped? You have done more than just "helped". I am extremely grateful! I have to many items on my plate, and I am drowning in projects! In this economy I am greatful. I truely do not have the time to do the research like I would normally do on my own. I did a "gugle search" on Dedicated Micros DS2 Manual, and nothing really popped up! It seemed as if I found every dealer on the net!! I did find this, but then I had to get back in to the field! http://www.dedicatedmicros.com/extranet/support/dmsoftware.html Thank you very much! -
Decent IR illuminator for 15x12 foot area?
scorpion replied to 1qwerasdf's topic in Security Cameras
Another zinger! 5 cents. That was started in the 60s. I wonder what that value would be in todays market? -
Have you done a review of the Nubix 4BC? Did I miss it in mix of the forum? If you have not done one then it will probably go like this: PRO: Cheap CON: Webserver is trash!
