I had fun with an install once. We took all of the items off the shelves and out of a pantry. We cut into the wall where there was some dead space in the floor plan due to a round entry way. Installed everything in the wall and placed the drywal back up, and then put the shelves back in then put all of the dry goods back on the shelves. Also at a beach community house I installed a DVR in a lock box. Problem one was that there was no place to put the DVR. I ended up bolting the dvr lock box lid to the ceiling with 2X4 up in the ceiling. If you are familiar with lockboxes then you know what a pain this was!! I had to mount it in a way so that when you unlocked the box the bottom of the box, and the dvr would not go crashing down on someone's head!! I will keep this install a secret to myself!!

NEED HELP WITH VIDEO NETWORKING DESIGN!!!!!!!!!
scorpion replied to drewliebs's topic in System Design
8 X 8 has a lot of voip stuff, and video telephones. I can get you a contact if you want to find out about their video conferencing stuff. -
See if anything here can help you out! http://scorpiontheater.com/videonetworkingwithavtech.aspx Give me some feedback if that page is of any help. I have been debating about taking this page, and AVTech/CPCam tech support page down.

If power were to go down in the local area will the cable system still be up and running if you use a generator? There are video amplifiers that the cable company depends on to send the signal down line, and if the power goes out at that point then everything down the line is down as well. Only you can decide which will give you the better option. There are some customers that have both. Yeah! That's what I said when they asked me to set that up!! I have some computers on the ATT, and then I have some computers on the cable system. When one goes down they can pop a cat 5 connector to get the other "side" up, and going. Sales = computers = money coming in.

HEY Rory! I tried to kick the dog out of her doghouse so that I could lay down some new carpet for you. The dog likes her her airconditioning around 78 degrees. The dog is a hustler so do not expect much time on the doghouse pool table. She used to crank up the tv sound surround but she busted the speakers when she over clipped them. Well at least the tv has speakers! She sleeps with the tv on. I thinks she uses it as a night light. I hope that does not bother you to much! The hot tub has a lot of dog hair in it, but you can scoop it out with the net before you get in. It is not a bad place considering it is 3 feet by 6 feet, and 3 feet tall!!! If it gets to windy you can just pick up the house and turn the door downwind! I hope you two don't mind sharing!! At least it will be rent free for you! Give me a call when you get in to town!!

Complete newbie - want wireless camera, ability to record..
scorpion replied to spaceman99's topic in General Digital Discussion
Wireless cameras. Most of your wireless cameras with the transmitter built in will only have about 100 milliwatts of power. This is about the same power as a child's walkie talkie. There will be distance limitations. You will see on the package that the antennas have to "see" each other. It may say 300 feet line of sight. If they do not see each other then you have to get the transmitter, and the receiver closer together. You still have to run wires to the camera as they will need 12 volts to operate. If you are going to run wires for power, then you may as well run wire for video. Wired cameras are more secure then wireless. Anyone can see your wireless signal!! 802.11 wireless is different then regular analog wireless camera. They are more secure, and the signal will travel better then regular analog signals will. What do you think? -
Congradulations on your brick, and mortar store. Being 22, and owning your own business must mean that you are more mature, and savy then your years!! See you on the forum!

I do not know the answer to your question as I have never worked with the 770. I am going to guess that it uses a 19 volt power supply but that is a guess. I would ask you to open the case and look at where the power supply connector is located. How many wires are soldered to it?? I imagine that it probably looks like an S video "style" connector. If it has only two wires on it trace it back to the PC board, and see if there is anything printed on the board that indicates the voltage. You should be able to buy the power supply as there are places on the net that sell them. There is also a source in Canada.

Eneo DXR-09N/500CDRW - Test Signal Output only
scorpion replied to galwayrich's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I have seen this on startup momentarly, but for it to be stuck on this is beyond me. I am really surprised that the hardware reset did not clear it! You may want to PM BurstElement. I have not seen this in the past, and he may have seen this before. http://www.cctvforum.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=3755 You may want to PM Darryl733. http://www.cctvforum.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1237 Keep me posted. I want to find out more about this. -
It should be giving you a pretty good picture. I do not know why you are having the problems that you are having. You may need something like the following dvrs.... http://www.icrealtime.com/solutions/dvrs.asp

I have seen no problems with ebay Sec Solut. I do not see any problems ordering from them. I have talked with All things digital, and helped him out of a jam. I have never dealt with him, so I cannot say anything good, or bad about his site. I wil leave it up to you to decide which of the two to buy from.

I am not quite sure what problem you may be having. I assume you have four cameras hooked up to the DVR. I assume you have a bnc to rca adapter connected to the MONITOR. With an RCA cable connect this to a yellow connector on your tv set. Do not use the threaded connector on the back called the F connector. This is for an antenna, or for cable service. If you do not know how to activate the yellow connector then try this article http://www.cctvforum.com/cms_view_article.php?aid=41 Scroll down to "On some TVs to activate the composite signal it is a simple as "..... Are you using NTSC, or PAL? 5.3 SWITCH N/P SYSTEM (ntsc/pal) 1) Press “Powerâ€

RickA has it right with the cross over cable. You may have to put a "default" IP address in to your DVR such as 192.168.1.2 And then you may have to go ( the following is for windows xp ) START, then to CONTROL PANEL, and then to NETWORK CONNECTIONS then to LOCAL AREA CONNECTIONS, and then click on PROPERTIES, and then click on INTERNET PROTOCAL [TCP/IP]. Click on USE THE FOLLOWING IP ADDRESS. Enter 192.168.1.10 This should allow you to connect up to your DVR with a cross over cable. If you are having problems hooking up then put the same gateway, subnet mask, and dns in to both the computer, and the DVR. Those of you who know how to use short cuts to get to the internet connection tcp ip can do so.
