My father bought a router last night. He pad about $50.00, or so. Kind of cheap for N router! I thought 802.11N has multi channel transmission? This router is on 2.4Ghz!! This router only is only single stream! 65Mb !!! Here is a look inside! http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-features/30882-three-things-you-should-know-about-the-linksys-wrt120n Is this wrong to advertise this way? This is a video of a miniture 8 engine helicopter. I was impressed with this video that is about 11 minutes long. First he does a flight demo, and then he does a GPS position hover, and then he smacks the copter with his hand, and the GPS brings the copter back to the GPS position. At the end of the film the copter already is weighted down with a camera, and then he suspends a 1 liter coke bottle under it. I was impressed when he smacked the bottle with his hand, and the copter was not unbalanced from the pendulum effect, and did a great job in of controlling the engines to keep the copter at "horizon". The full throttle take off to max altitude is stunning to say! What do you think?

I am thinking that you may have issues with just the player involved. What we need to do is to find a version that works, and then use that player, and embed it in to the version that you have now. I wonder if you can try the video server E and see if that will work. If it does then I would take this playback, and put it in to the files of your video viewer. You will have to give the police this version of the playback. The playback is a standalone software, and does not need video server e as a whole to work. You can give the police the files, and the playback, and they should be good to go. For you we just need to install the player in to your version of Video Viewer.

I have argus software for a very old version of a model DVR. Look here and see if your DVR looks like this: http://scorpiontheater.com/secupointer.aspx Yes? There is your download. No? Oh well, I tried!

I thought you had a simple problem of just getting to download video. Now I believe that you are having problems connecting to the DVR? Can you ping the DVR? Do you see live video on your PC?

Problems with connecting DVR to laptop (AVTECH KPD-672/674)

Your post does not leave a lot of information. I may be beating a dead horse, but lets try this... Go to http://ipchicken.com/ Write the number down that you see on your screen. This will be the number that you put in your address bar of your laptop when you are away from the DVR. Did this work? -
It can be done! It is a pain in the butt! You can put the music on to a computer. You will have a timeline where you highlight where you want to trigger a relay. A relay will trigger a PTZ preset. How many presets would it take to dance up/down, and around? Will the PTZ share the same address, or how many different addresses will you use? Do you want to use digital, or vacuum tubes? What do you think?

Hello! I gave up trying to find solutions to cellphone remote view. I have not found an ROI that will allow me time to spend on this issue. I run in to problems with Cell phone manufacture, cell phone service providers, java issues, active x issues, and other problems. Any ap will also have to work with the carrier such as 3G, and CDMA. The manufacture has to develop software for it to work with BB. BB for the most part is used in the "business world". In the business world you may not find Avtech DVRs being used. There is no reason to spend money on this system. The Iphone is more for the everyday user. In a large amount of homes you will find Avtech DVRs. There is a large need to have an ap made for this system. I do not know what will work with BB except what users have posted with their experience.

Before and after IP upgrade pics?

At least they left a replacement door mat for the one that they took! Did someone steal a screen storm door, and leave a glass one in its place? -
Hook that computer back up to the cable that you are using for the DVR. What is listed under ipconfig?

How to fix a forehead after smashing it in to a wall!! LOL! Thanks for responding! On the next moment of Chaos you will be the first that I will "call"! I could not get zoneminder to work with Ubuntu, or Debian. I finally have it working with CentOS. My question would be more aimed at someone who had the same results using Debian, and how they over came those issues. With CentOS I am good to go, and I do not have any questions. I am trying to learn lenny as I go, and that is not helping either! I am having other minor issues, but I am so far ahead with CentOS now then I was with Ub, and Deb. I just have to make sure I know what section I am before I start typing commands. So far I am good to go. Knock on wood! -

OK! That is it! I am going back to dedicated DVRs where I belong! I do not have the details in full just yet. I have a Dlink PTZ networked, and I have an Intel Atom board serving the PTZ. It is debian lenny based with no gui. Going to a computer on the same LAN, and bringing up video it will shortly go to black. It appears to stop recording. The log gives me a WAR about cant get shared memory. Unable to store frame as time stamp. I guess this is a Debian issue? Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! -
Spy Camera flying platform: Police, military, or PI?

It appeared to me in the video that the "motors" are indendant of each other. When he hits it with his hand, and it recovers to the GPS point I can see the motion blur change in the different props. -
Note that the AVC 760 is now discontinued, and H.264 AVC 791 is the standard. http://scorpiontheater.tech.officelive.com/Documents/AVTech_Manual_English_KPD673_672_671_670_manual_V1.1.pdf

Problems with connecting DVR to laptop (AVTECH KPD-672/674)
scorpion replied to WendyT's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I am under the impression that the you are using another DVRs viewing software to view an AVTech DVR. This would explain a possible unable to connect login error warning. You will need to use Video Viewer. http://scorpiontheater.com/videoviewer.aspx Use 0.1.4.4 or 9.9 http://scorpiontheater.com/videonetworkingwithavtech.aspx ********************************************** Question: What is the port that your AVTech DVR is using? I assume you have done the port forward on the router? The most problems that people face is having to go in to internet options, and change the security settings to prompt for unsigned active x. You may not be seeing the yellow bar requesting you to install an active x. If the DVR is at factory default then the user / pass is admin admin -
Does your DVR have an IDE hard drive, or a SATA hard drive? I would suggest that you do not upgrade your firmware! 1. There are different chips sets, and you may have to line up the right firmware to the chipsets in your DVR. 2. You will not notice any difference in performance for the most part. 3. If your DVR is having problems for the most part a firmware may not correct it. Your DVR should be in good working order prior to any firmware updates. My firmware is password protected. If you do a firmware update, and something goes wrong do not do a HARDWARE RESET under any circumstances! If you down load the wrong firmware then try to reload the original. This will require you to save this version prior to any updates. When all else fails you may have to pull the firmware chip, and install another chip, and then reload the propler firmware. ******************************************** The DVR is Linux based. How well do you know Linux coding? The DVR does not have PC connections. You can connect via LAN, and download video. If you remove the hard drive, and install it in a PC then you will have no access to video. You will need to write your own program to emulate how the DVR works. All you can do is read the file as in off line hard drive. Mirror your drive with Acronis, or Ghost if you start to manipulate the data on the hard drive if it is important to you. Do not fomat the DVR hard drive. These DVRs use hard drives straight out of the HD package without any PC formatting. What version of Video Viewer are you using? If your DVR has an IDE hard drive then the native viewer is Video Server E, but Video Viewer (created for H.264) is backwards compatable with the MPEG version (SATA), and the JPEG (IDE) versions.

Source for keys for hard drive bays on DVRs?
scorpion replied to scorpion's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I wished AVTech / CPCam used the computer sized keys that are more common rather then the tiny version they use. -
Hello! I received a call from someone that need to obtain a key to get to the hard drive. Is there a source for those hard drive keys on hard drive bays such as those found on the older AVTech DVRs? A dist wants to charge $15.00 per key. They reoffered them at 3 for $15.00 after I protested. Thanks!
