Wireless Input/Output Digital
scorpion replied to cctvfl's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Awesome! This is better than the optex wirless ones that I use! -
I was just wondering. The panel that belongs to the customer, how big is it? Is this panel of his water proof? The reason I ask, is it possible to drill a hole in the panel, place a small sheet of clear plastic over the hole with some silicon and then place a pin hole cam behind it? Is it possible to get the "air freshner" style camera with a SD card placed inside this panel? What about one of those hunting style cameras that use a digital camera with IR that you would normally strap to a tree and the motion detection would capture the deer, or panel vandal? These are some what water proof. They have the cheap 35mm ones with flash that are fairly cheap. I would rather use the IR so it would be "invisible".

DeluxeCCTV, do you do WM nation wide or just in your local area?

I would get some 8 1/2 by 11 construction paper (white) and I would put together a skit and write it down on the paper. I would then hold up the cue cards one at a time. You might just entertain some bored security guards day! They will save the file and play it back to all of their buddys. If you really got time on your hands get some actors and come up with a silent movie skit and act it out in front of the cameras.

It is a device that allows you to find cameras. They do not have to be powered, or they do not have to be operational. The device has a view finder that you look through. Around the view finder there are a circle of leds that shoot out similiar to laser pointers. It finds the curvature of the lens and the laser bounces back through the view finder. I can find cameras hidden in pinholes. I use this to demo the customer to find my cameras (law enforcement / Prvt Investigators) then I give them the finder to let them "see" the cameras. I get a lot of calls from the cheating husband/wife or going through a divorce wife/husband to look for covert cams in the master bedroom ect. On installs that are to be covert using regular cameras I build them in to the dog houses, bird houses, bird feeder ect. Then I let the customer "find" these as well.[/img]

I figured you had some various boards laying about on some shelves and you would be able to get your parts from them for free. Do you really need the board? Can you put all of the parts together and place a heatshrink over the componets?
-
Is it possible to build your own board with a 12 volt regulator, bridge rectifier, electrolytic cap, and the other various parts and put it on wire wrap board and solder the components?
-
You can aim a camera finder at it and watch security go beserk when the laser pointers fires off! Was it warm to the touch?

Hello! My name is Scorpion. I will soon be asking for access in to the dealer section. What qualifications will I need in order to have access? I can send you a photo of me standing tippy toe on one leg on a 6 foot ladder with a dewalt in one hand, and camera in the other, a mouth full of screws, a monitor under one arm, diagonal cutters in one pocket, a ten in one tool in the other pocket and a crimping tool tucked under my chin! Ha! Ha! I'm only kidding! I would never use a monitor! I would rather take 20 trips back to the monitor to see if I got the view right!!!!!! Thank you for your consideration!

For in wall options do you have a mass produced (entry level wholesale price to be sold at entry level retail price) device? I cannot put DVRs in to walls here since they are 2x4 (wood or metal). If the floor plan has hidden spots, such as where a/c units have unused space behind them or under stairs, or plant shelf area. I usually end up in the attic and I started looking for "cubby holes" and then I cut in to them and set up a shelf and have an electrician run power. I love the "cubbys" because the wires are easly accessable for add ons, and changes. I really hate hiding DVRs in A/C duct work. I do not mind for tempory law enforcement / private investigator work though. I have problems in small houses that are not custom designed. The only thing I can do is to have a false ceiling installed in a closet and use an ac filter vent as a pass through for the new drywall.

I have always done stand alone DVRs and have not much experience with computer based DVRs and I am wanting to head down this road. I thought you could put two 16 channel cards in to one motherboard? Kensplace, I agree with 100% on making systems with as much flexibility, and endurance as possible. Look at the space shuttle, they have a backup for every system. Assuming you can put two cards in to one machine your advantages still work.

Thanks Galen, and Rory. I thought all of the action was in the dealer section! All this time I thought I was missing out! I was begining to fill like the last guy picked from two teams! I feel a little let down that not much happens in the dealer section. Everyone has been more then helpful. Even beyond my expectations! I appreciate it very much. How did they learn their craft in the old days with all of the secret handshakes and layers of secrecy? If you really wanted to be a block mason did you have to go shake someone down?

I have repaired t.v.s in the past. It does not seem that long ago when every drug store had a tube checker with the red zone, yellow, and green zone. You shoved the tube in to the socket that matches, and set all of the dials, and pressed the big button. If it was in the red zone, you looked on the shelf above, and took the tube to the counter. I have a question. Is there a particular color monitor that would be common among various retailers (even if branded under various names). I also wonder if they would have a capacitor kit. This is common in the video arcade games. You order the cheap cap set, and if that fixes the problem you off, and making money again. If there is a problem, and you do not want to spend labor benching it, then you would just replace it. Most companies just grabbed a monitor out of a video game that was not pulling its weight. Anyone ?

Is this a custom in wall or do you have a source?
-
I was curious. Did you "bench test it before the installation, and did it work? Is is possible to get to the camera now? If you can take it down you can hook it up to the controller directly for trouble shooting. This will tell you if you have a bad point in the wire somewhere. I would probably start trying various configurations till I got lucky.

Makes since! I am used to jello see windows (how do you spell that) in florida, and I like how in P.R. they have the metal versions on the window! This was in the 70's and I don't know if they still use this today. I went through a cat 5 in P.R. I don't know why but a cat 5 in the islands seams alot rougher than ones here on the coast of fl.

I am confused. Are your interior walls concrete? I could see issues with two story houses. 900 Mhz would be better to get a way from all of the 2.4 issues. I wish I had time to google a 900 Mhz version.

This may be of interest to some people as well. http://www.audio-ideas.com/reviews/accessories/terk-wavemaster.html This is not the product that I have used but the explanation should suffice. This product appears to be using 2.4. Keep this in mind if you have 2.4 Ghz cameras, or you are using 802.11x as this is on 2.4 Ghz as well. Do not forget that if you use this procuct you next door neighbor may be watching your signal and watching what you are watching. Any one else use something similar?

It is funny that you say that! I can relate to that one hundred percent!!!! In my case thank goodness for save shortcut to desk top and then later throw it in to a folder for easy look up later. Darn what folder did I put that in?
