    Victim of Loansharks

His tenant is the one who is being harassed. The only solution is to have the "victim" pay his bill. If the land owner gets involved then he himself may become a target. In other words, if the landlord become enough of a pain then they will show him who is boss, and who is in control. It would be better to find a rival "loan shark" enterprise, and pay them for "protection", but then they may hang you out a tall building window until you sign the mortage over to them, and then they control what goes on on the property, and then you find yourself living in a business where there are three types of customers... The one going in in Russian, the one leaving is Finnish, and the one inside is Himalayan!

When I first started working with ATT netopia modems I had to call ATT, and sit there for an hour for them to come on line. I wrote everything in step down on paper. When they finally tried the different combinations then they finally got remote video then I kept those notes. As for your DNS situation there are too many variables. I usually find DNs that go back to a router to have the wrong IP address. I would contact someone in your area who may be more knowledgeable with your ISP. They may be blocking ports that cause issues, or maybe the router needs to have the DNS rather than the DVR. These are things that you have to work out on your own. I truely do not know what the issue may be

$$ Average System Setup Cost $$

No, not $1,100.00 per camera. The whole system. Analog. The system would be a 4 channel DVR w/ remote view ( AVC760), 4 cameras ( 30 foot IR ), 4 100 foot premade cables (or a spool of wire), and a 4 channel power supply ( 2 amp, or higher ), BNC to RCA adapter (television composite), video surveillance sticker, and disk with remote software, and manual. $400 for installation is based on a single story house with crawl space attic, (but prefer standing attic!). I wish I could get 1000 per camera!

$$ Average System Setup Cost $$

I agree with . amsmt, I would remove your email address and tell people to PM you for the info. You are about to become friends with 300 manufactures with spam, and you are about to get another 300 from "hello, I am the president of a bank in ..... where someone has passed away..... Here in Florida: The magic number (retail) for the bottom tier market is the $1,100.00! There is enough head room for a small profit, and you can charge another $400.00 for installation. The better the client the better you can move those prices up.
  7. 4 cameras outside for a 5000 sq foot house? I am very disapointed in you! I would put the three cameras on the inside, and I would run 13 wires to camera locations for the outside. You can mount the 4 cameras outside, but then you have room to add on more if you feel that a "new problem" has come up down the road. I may run even more, and move the cables for each situation, and move the cameras to new locations depending on your security needs. I would try to make the system flexible to match you budget such as using vari focal cameras instead of fixed lens cameras. I can see at least 3 looking out to the front lawn. Do you have a circular driveway, or do you have a traditional driveway, or do you have large parking area in the front, with a drive going towards the back of the house to the garage? What is in your garage? Tools? Expensive fishing rods? What is your hobby? Do you have a pool? Do you have grandkids? Do you have a water front home? River, canal, or ocean? Can someone approach your house from this point? Do you have a dock? How many gates do you have? One left entrance, and one right entrance through the fence? Do you have a Lanai / pool area / patio? Do you have teenage children where they may leave the house after they are supposed to be in bed, or do you have a boyfriend who is sniffing around the back sliding glass door waiting for her to come out? What kind of cars do you drive? Are they expensive, valuable, or collectable? Do you have a maid, live in maid, gardner, "around the house handy man", butler, ect? Do you entertain alot, or do you entertain in order to network to increase your business (such as realestate sale leaders, mortgage brokers). Do you host a lot of fund raisers? I would set up video surveillance to cover all of these situations. I would put a PTZ camera at certain locations. The camera would be set for a particular situation, and then when you have a parties, or some event then I would rearrange the cameras for each event, and then put them back to their "home" position after wards. As I have said you do not need to install a ton of cameras, but at least plan ahead, and prewire to you hearts content. I apologize for being so rude. I want to "kick you in the pants" to make you proactive, rather then reactive to future situations. Perhaps you will hire me as a consultant to provide your security needs. I want you to see that I look at the "big picture". Tricks: If you do not want a camera in your master bedroom for privacy reasons (the wife), then put a covert PIR motion camera at the entrance way to your master bedroom. If the hired help, or a wayward guest were to go in there, and something came up missing at least you know who, what, and when! If you have a large master bedroom closet (closets), and you have a cash drawer, or jewelry drawer then put a covert down facing smoke detector camera toward the back away from the area where one may dress. This gives you privacy yet you can watch your valuables. Can you provide a http://maps.google.com/ of the location? What do you think?
  8. I think it is the bank's way of saying that they do not believe you. I would have an attorney subpoena the footage. They will have to react on this. Can you ghost the Diginet hard drive before the footage disapears? You may find out that the bank does not have a working system. Hmmmm?

    AVTECH 717 DVR firmware

I would try a hardware reset. I doubt the firmware would fix your problem. The chip may have a problem that goes with the battery. You may have a battery that came off the shelf that may not hold a load. Test the battery under load. http://scorpiontheater.com/reset.aspx

  14. I tried Google Translator. It butchered the Croatian language something horrible! dvrtiger was kind enough to point me to a Croatian language website where I could download manuals. (Thanks DVRtiger)! http://www.cctvforum.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=11230 I am a heavy user of Google translator. It is a great service. I tried Googling French, and German manuals, but for some reason they have eluded me. To those of you who have provided manuals, and guides in the past, then I wish to thank you again. It is greatly appreciated, and I am sure those who find this website are equally greatful. Now if we could get AVTech themselves to be this helpful!

    Things you find.......

Here is a view of one of the three new parapet walls. Here is the view inside the crawl space created by the wall support. The signage company hired me to crawl through here, and do a 90 degree turn (impossible without getting permantly stuck in there) for about 100 feet on my belly through here in late July to install wires through all of the signage channel lettering. It was hot, muggy, and hateful!

    Things you find.......

It is silver tape. OK! I have to confess! It is actually my work. This is a business that is under construction, and the "job" required 16 cameras running 24/7 no ifs, no ands, no buts, and regardless of the contruction going on. Originally the wires came out of the wall from the attic, and dangled to the cameras. The night club built a parapet wall higher above the roof line for larger signage on three sides of the building. It was a nightmare with tear down, and build up, stucco, paint, and other work performed. With new parapet walls I ran the wires inside of crawl space, and the wires came through the wall, and inside of the back of the SCC 931T Zoom cameras. I would have to remove the cameras so they could install mesh, and then I had to "install" the camera, and then remove them before stucco application, and then I was ordered to attach the cameras to the wall without DRILLING any holes. The building is being reroofed and there was no way to mount them from the roof. Had to do the same during the primer, and painting. You can see where they are mounting the architectual foam, and they have not been stuccoed. The guys threw that stucco without care, and the owner would not allow the cameras to be removed leaving the system unoperable. All of these cameras run to another building to a DVR, and back to this building to the managers office. This job pays better by the foot then by the hour!

Hello Gang! Can I add this one?
  20. Hello! Sorry to tell you there are no manuals available for this DVR. Hold on, My wife is whispering in my ear! OH! It seems that there are manuals for your DVR! It appears that they are on my website of all places. Who knew? Here is the link: http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx

    Frustrated with cheap stuff!

Warrany issues would stop me, and it would be easier to buy something then to pull LEDs, and to try and find the right LEDs to replace them with, and then you have power mismatches where one set of LEDs draw more power then the others, and then the other set of LED starve.

    Frustrated with cheap stuff!

LOL! I guess I shot my self in the foot with this one!! EERRRRRR! Ok! How do I back peddle my way out of this situation? I apologize! You have VARIFOCAL LENSES? Yahoo! Great job on vari focal selection! You are way ahead of the pack. The reason is this. You can set those cameras with a setting that matches the view needed. Down the road when a new "emergency" comes up that we did not anticipate then you can reorient the camera, and change the lens setting to match your new view. When this emergency is over you can reorient the camera back where it was, and set the lens back to the original setting. This makes your video surveillance system more flexible. In other words you do not have to go and buy another camera to resolve every new situation that pops up! Great job! Read the manual for the camera. If it has Zoom, and focus, then great. If it has a third setting then be very careful with the setup. Try various settings, and let the DVR record. You can fast forward, and rewind to compare the different settings to see which you really like the best. One trick. If you like it more to the wide angle setting then put the camera in full zoom, and point the camera at what is important, and then pull the video back to wide angle. This way if you want to catch a different view then you can zoom in with out having to move the camera. 6mm is a "neutral" lens setting. It does not have the distance distortion. It does not have the left, and right peripheral gain. The higher the number the more it is zoomed in. 2.8mm is fish eye. The IR distance is a real long throw. Having the wide angle lens setting does not let the camera work best with the IR. It would be best to have the camera at full zoom, and to use it looking at the truck instead of the swing. Is it possible to swap the two cameras? In other words you need to find a short throw IR that throws wide instead of deep for the front porch. The truck needs an IR that has a long throw, and a second IR illuminator that can bounce off of something to reflect the IR, and disperse it in a more even lighting effect. http://scorpiontheater.com/irlab.aspx What do you think?

    Frustrated with cheap stuff!

In the price range you are dealing with it appears that the pictures are normal. You will see black and white where you are using Infra Red illumination. The red background is the light source. It is a source of illumination and there fore the camera does not need the IR in that part of the scene as it is illumnated by the natural lighting. What is that swing? 4 feet wide? How big is the area within the swing area? If it is 6 feet from the wall with the window to the opposite wall, and it is 6 feet wide then from where the camera is located then I will guess you are about 10 ~ to the picket fence. If you said 12 feet from the fence to the camera then I would not be surprised. I see the space between the picket fence. What is the problem that you see with this camera? Following the fence down the line you cannot see the detail between the pickets, and the spacing. This is more a problem with the lens selection, and you have quality issues based more on lens selection then camera selection. Who was the designer of this system, and why did they pick this lens setting? If they were to put the right lens to provide better detail what would that designer pick to replace this lens? The IR illumination appears to have a hot spot, but the walls, and ceiling help dissipate the IR, and create better overall illumination. A CCTV designer can improve this view with a different IR setup. What is the IR throw of this camera? In regards to the side street in the camera 4 position is also the wrong lens for viewing the truck for protection. Why did the designer pick this lens? Is this a 2.8mm lens? See the curvature at the top of the screen. This is a sign of a super wide angle screen. Make a little change to a wider view, and you are going to have a fish eye lens. Wide angle cameras were designed for one thing, and that is for right peripheral, and left peripheral viewing, and nothing else. In a 10 X 10 room you cannot see the whole room. The wide angle camera gives you a great view of the room. You do not care about distance issues as you are limited by the walls. I would go back to your system designer, and ask for your money back. I suppose you could have them design the system correctly, and this may remedy a few of the issues. What do you think.
