If you do a hardware reset you will then lock in what ever firmware was lasted loaded. Before you do a hardware reset see if you can reload the original firmware.

need a solid bw dome for a bar application
scorpion replied to griffonsystems's topic in Security Cameras
If you have black lights, ropelighting, beer neon, or other low lighting then use this. This is my favorite bar camera. http://eclipsecctv.com/ECL-CPIRD_hidden_camera.html I spray paint my black, and I put the siamese on the inside to make the connection although I have to cut out a plate that is in the way. The power pigtail, and the BNC hide well inside these. -
I cannot see where you went wrong. You say you have Video Server E, and that is the right firmware version for the DVR. Do not do a hardware reset what ever you do. You will have to reload the original firmware back in to it, and leave it at that. 2014 does not have the Player BIN, and your DVR may not like that version for some odd reason.

TomCCTV Interesting concept! I will have to look in to that! Thank you very much!! I appreciate the info!

Thanks for the heads up on port forward .com The ATT 2wire is set up according to portforward.com's suggestions. I cannot ping the address, and I cannot log in to the video. I wish this was a netopia as I would have had remote video in 5 seconds. It appears that I am having a unique ATT problem that none of you have experienced. Thanks for the info though!

The software works with Video Server E. Does your 777W use Video Server S? If you are using Video Server S then Steve's AP will not work with your 777W. If your 777 uses Video Server E, then Steve's AP should work. It also might be that you do not have the chipset that the AVC 785, and 787 uses?

Do you have an AVTech AVC 760 DVR? If yes then: Yes, they beep real loud during power up. This is to wake up a "security guard", "owner", "Manager" ect, that you have a power outage, and you should check the cameras, and the system to make sure all is operational. We need to find out why your system is shutting down. This may be a power supply issue. It may be the external power supply. It may be bad causing the issue. You may have an internal power supply board that is causing problems, and it "crashes" the external power supply by going in to overload protection. You may have a hard drive that is causing the internal power supply to crash. ________________________________________________________ Lets start with the easy stuff. 1 change out the hard drive. If it no longer crashes then you have solved the problem. If it still has a problem then change the outside power supply. You may find one for a laptop computer that has the same specs. If it crashes again then you will need to replace the internal power supply. _____________________________________________________________ AVC 760 Power Supply Vellman Specs 19 Volts 3.7A 60 Watt Adapter Technology Co 19V 90 Watt Model STD-1947P Velleman 19 Volt 3.7Amps http://www.velleman.be/nl/en/product/view/?id=351251 _____________________________________________________________ http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx -

Firmware / Software for Avtech 761
scorpion replied to Thaleshwar's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Great Job! Now that that is hacking at it's best!! I would agree with you about the overheating issues. I wonder if you can cut holes in the chassis to allow the power, and data wires to exit the and install the hard drive in a case to make it pretty, or to tinker toy something to hold the hard drive. Have you added a fan? I am concerned about the chips on the board. Video graphics are heat intensive. Do you have pictures? -
Has anyone used the Iphone, and Logmein to connect to a DVR?

scorpion replied to dcman's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Yes you can. I assume that you are using this to go from the DVR to a monitor? -
Click on products, and then click on H264, and you can select between the two products for review. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.avtech.cc%2Findex.aspx

I found a page in the 2Wire that allows me to remove the "block ping" option. This did not help any. I have not had a chance to get back out to the customers house as he has been putting in a lot of overtime where he works. Once I figure this out, then I will keep everyone posted.

Hello! Thanks for your advice. I appreciate the help. They only have one IP address. The 2Wire has a 4 port built in, and there is no router connected. The computer is already set up for automatic

Help!! I am still unable to get video on the WAN! I cannot ping the IP Chicken which I thought was strange! Anyone ever set up a two wire for video? Thanks
-
You might have to get 4 VCRs, and have them tuned to each cameras "channel". Then you can take the VCR composite out, and put it in to the DVR input. Why not put a splitter on each camera, and run it straight to the DVR before the signal is modulated?

AVTECH AVC777 DVR Power Supply Query
scorpion replied to octalplug's topic in Digital Video Recorders
An 80 GB would be the recommended size. This would give you about 4 days of recording. Motion may spread that out some. I am glad that I could be of service, and help you with the power supply info! -
Survtech, I agree with you one hundred percent. The bent wire is not RG 59 though. That is the camera lead. That is how it came out of the box.

Several reasons. There is no place to hide the wiring such as in an attic, or inside of a wall. If there is some kind of an "event" where I have to cut the wire back, and get some fresh wire to make a connection then the wire is going to be too short. This was an open air set up. I ran the wire to the camera, and I am using the camera wire length as a "reserve". I coiled up the camera wire, and used zip ties to hold it. Now if I cut the wire, then I can make up the distance with the extra length from the camera wire. I like the wiring to be "tight", and not "droopy" so I pull on the wire to take out any slack. No other reason then for the above. I want it to be practical, and neat.
