CPcam lost date and time. again and again

The battery is on the bottom. You have to break the warranty seal to remove the board. I suggest you take it back to where you bought it if you have a warranty! _____________________________________________________________ http://scorpiontheater.com/avtparts.aspx MS621FE Battery The battery is a MS621FE battery. http://www.avtech.com.tw/english/cctv.aspx?Type=3&Type2=3 http://www.gadspot.com/product_info.php?products_id=202 I am not sure if the Gadspot is an AVTech, or not. True Gadspot has had AVTech DVRs in the past. With the DVR that you have, and if you had Windows XP, then you can go to tools > internet options > Browsing History Delete. Delete Temp Internet Files, and then relog in to your DVR, and see if that gives you the Active X prompt. Here are some more notes: http://scorpiontheater.com/url.aspx

AVTECH 760M constantly rebooting with no hdd
scorpion replied to rimist's topic in Digital Video Recorders
What you are saying make sense. You do not need this speech, but others reading this post may need this info. It is hard to read in to the post that members provide. There are some posts where the responding member may feel that the original poster is more of a DIY, and trying to do something that they are not "qualified" to do. It could be a "I am greater than you" mentality as well on the responder. I do not think this is the case as everyone who responds to the posts are pretty level headed on the forum. We have had a few "hotheads" but they tend to move on when they feel the community is not "bowing down to them". It could be that a responding poster realizes that the DIY is in over their head, and really needs to stop, and evaluate what they are doing. There are color codes, and values that need to be used when selecting parts. You know what you are doing so I would say feel free to do so. I do not know if there are feed back circuits on the power supply board. I do not know what would happen if you took the board off completely, and subbed another power supply. Most times when someone adds a fan they just add a power supply for the fan leaving the original power supply in place. With the correct AVTech DVR model you will have a connector that allows you to attach a device allowing you to stack as many hard drives as you wish. The device provides the power for the extra hard drives so as not to suck power from the DVR power supply. You need a line conditioner. Surge protectors do not do anything to clean up the power except in exteme spikes. Surge protectors cannot clean noise, and they cannot do anything during brown out situations. I urge a line conditioner. UPS may not have line conditioner. The more basic, the less likely that it has a conditioner. -
AVTECH 760M constantly rebooting with no hdd
scorpion replied to rimist's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I do not think a power supply would cause it to reboot. With a hard drive installed then it would make sense. The lack of voltage would just make the DVR inoperable. You have more of a "watchdog" circuit being triggered, and I do not know why. It is not the lack of quality of the board, but more the electrical experience that you described. I will have to assume that you do not have a line conditioner on the DVR, and that is subjecting the DVR to everything coming down the socket. If you feel that you need to replace the power supply with something different then this tells me that you are running more than two hard drives, and you have some serious add on fans that draw some extreme amp values. I do not have a pinout of the board but you can test for the voltages with a meter. If the power supply was below standard as you describe then I think you would see every other post would be someone asking to source the boards. Looking in the past of old threads you are not going to find very many posts about the power supply compared to "how do you network this thing"? -
Buy it all and then take your cost, and multiply it by 3.5, and resell it, and take a vacation!!

The hard drive is bad...oh....no hard drive.....hmmmm... you got me! I would have you test the power supply (760P P=powerboard ) for proper voltage. Try a computer store as they should be familiar with the values that run the chipsets. If someone tells you the power board is $80, or $100 then do not be surprised. I do not belive you will find it cheaper than $50.00. If you do then do not buy it as buyer beware. -
You have me stumped on this one. When used for evidence it would stay in the proprietary state, and if uploaded to YouTube then you would use the monitor out. There are those who use the plexor device for uploading video directly to AVI. I do not know how you would accomplish your task in all honesty. The worse way I can think of is to take a hand held video camera and record the monitor screen with the speaker play loud enough for the hand help to pick up the audio.
-
http://www.rcfp.org/taping/ Can you use a recording device such as a VCR, or a DVD recorder, and connect to the monitor out directly on the monitor.
-
We need more info on the DVR. cd120 means (I am only guessing) cd burner with a 120 Frames Per Second.
-
What you see is what you get on your computer. Compressed video will look less then live video. The video is "wrapped" in proprietary software to avoid tampering, and to add watermark. You can convert the video to AVI, or you can record from the monitor out if you want to upload to Youtube ect.
-
Audio does not carry over to AVI. Is this what you are describing?
-
I do not understand why you are doing what you are doing? The DVR records all of the video, and you only need to extract the two, or five minutes of video that shows the "action". 500GB??? Wow! Why dont you buy another DVR, and just take the whole hard drive home, and then pop it into your other DVR? Did you know the remote software will allow you to record the video to a remote computer? I think this would save you the headache from what you are trying to do. What do you think?
-
You probably need to download Video Server E. In the bundle of software is the "viewer" that allows you to watch these files. The software will allow you to convert it to AVI. http://scorpiontheater.com/videoviewer.aspx scroll down below Video Viewer. _____________________________________________________________ If it was just purchased then this may be an updated DVR, and it may use the Video Viewer instead. Load Video Server E first. If that does not work then download Video Viewer.

Video Server E - how do I time search?
scorpion replied to JohnHamer1977's topic in General Digital Discussion
There are a few variables. The first thing we need to determine is the question: Is it recording? The other question would be to find out if it has the correct settings for recording. Are you recording 24/7 ,or with motion detection? Motion detection may not be enabled, or you have it completely masked off, and it does not "see" motion. You may have a harddrive error of some sort, or it is not communicating with the mother board. -

No one wants to bid on this because your system is already flawed from your post, and they may not want to be held liable in case of a worse case scenerio. You should reevaluate your specs for your system to correct your deficiencies. What do you think?

Recommendations for a dvr h.264 with built-in web server
scorpion replied to mhenley's topic in Digital Video Recorders
AVTech is your answer! Use Quicktime to view your DVR with a Mac. All DVRs will have a built in webserver. The router is only needed to connect multiple devices to one Modem. If you do not have a computer where the DVR is located then just connect the DVR straight to the modem. I have not heard of them, but you will have to ask around to see if others are aware of them, but it sounds like you want a DVR with a built in wireless connection. There might be a DVR that takes an aircard to get it on the internet, but then why pay for the extra internet service when you can plug in to a router, and share the internet with the computer that you all ready have? -
Then I will take it that you have deleted TEMP INTERNET Files, and that you have done a menu reset, and that you are still having these problems. You have a router problem, or a firewall issue. If those are not the problems then I will have to assume that a chip has failed, and it is unable to transmit video over the internet. You will have to take this DVR back to where you purchased it. Is this a new purchase? I have never seen a failure like this. Usually if there are chip errors then you will see it in hundreds of machines rather then one individual machine. I am curious as to why you are having these problems. What kind of router did you swap out, and what kind of router did that replace?

Help please I need firmware AVTECH 761 with Italian language
scorpion replied to peppedv's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I would prefer to talk you out of updating the firmware, and I would rather ask what problems you are having with your DVR. You will not want to do this on your own unless you are familiar with the various firmware familys, and board version. Nevermind me! Just close your eyes, and pickone! It will be fun! Just like Russian roulette! -
If you are having Active X issues then you will want to delete Temp Internet Files. This will bring back the request to run the Active X. If that fails then you may have to go into your menu, and do a factory reset, and then check all of your configurations. If you get the Any Where Any Time screen then this means you are "talking" to the DVR. Do you get the login screen where it asks for user name, and password?

You must have an updated firmware! I have been hearing about problems with Blackberry, and connecting with AVTech DVRs. You are the first one that works!! I would say leave as you have it, and consider your self lucky!! What DVR do you have? Thanks!
