Are these cameras good for a dim bar setting?
scorpion replied to EgbertSouses's topic in Security Cameras
I am not familiar with the brands that you have posted in your previous posts. I have used these in Gentlemen's clubs, night clubs, and bars, and they work fairly good to great. I use a lot of the neon bar signs, and rope lighting, or black lights to provide illumination in dark clubs. http://eclipsecctv.com/ECL-CPIRD_hidden_camera.html http://eclipsecctv.com/ECL-374.html I will use expensive cameras for the important areas, such as the front door, back door, atm, and the office, and then I use the minis to cover pool tables, dart boards, and seating areas. Using the minis help offset some of the cost to keep within budgets of most tight fisted budgets. I will use the coverts behind a DJ Booth, or in liquor storage area, and in the office as a back up to a regular camera to see if people disable the first camera. I have used the Samsung 931T for outdoors. http://www.samsung-security.com/products/cameras/scc931t.php -

I search a mikrofon(audio) for DVR System
scorpion replied to geko's topic in General Digital Discussion
First I would have you find a "spy store" near you, or a "musical store" near you. This will be important to you if the device quits working. You will have someone local to you to help with technical service, or repairs. If you cannot find a store local to you then I would be more than glad to help. There are a 1000's of issues to set up a "perfect" listening system. You are only limited by your budget, or if the system is for "security is of the essence". The links are of manufactures, and I am not the owner of the businesses, or the websites. I am a resellar of their respective products. -

What IP address are you using to remote view your DVR?

I was curious why it is important while you are at home to use your host IP address to view your home DVR? I am not an networking expert, and I have no answer for your question. It is common not to be able to use a WAN address to view through your brower when the DVR is connected to the same router with the computer that you using. -

I am assuming that the host is for your home DVR. I understand why you can see the home DVR using the host number at work. You should not be able to use your home DVR Wan address while you are at home. You should not be able to use a WAN IP address at the same location as the DVR that you are logging in to. I do not know why you can use a WAN IP address at work to see the DVR that is located there. By chance do they have two modems? I could see where the DVR is on one modem, and you are logging in on it from another modem. This is common around here with some of the cabarets. The DJ booth is on one modem from one provider, and the office computers, and the merchant services are on another modem from another provider. This also gives them back up in case the merchant services internet goes down. Do you have two host names? One for the home DVR, and another one for your work DVR? -

First office install – Need ideas for wall plates where ever
scorpion replied to sattech2000's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Installation styles will very with the budget more so then anything else. If I were doing a new construction then I would use a metal mud ring. I prefer mudrings rather than boxes. I like taking the extra length of wire, and tucking back in to the wall cavity. You cannot do that with a box. If down the road they add more cameras then it is easy to drop some new wires down the wall, and pull it out through the opening. The only exception would be an exterior wall. When doing retrofits then I perfer the Carlon low voltage ring, or old work bracket. http://scorpiontheater.com/tool.aspx I use wall plates that have a premade hole in them, and I use a dremel barrel sander on my Dewalt drill, and I make the hole as large as I need for the wires pulled. Splitting the wires is a good idea, and running it behind the power box. Leave some slack in case down the road they need to relocate the power box. When doing retro fits that have boxes I then have to take my diagnal cutters (dikes) and I have to cut out the top of the box, and hope I can get my fish rod up the box, and the wall, but finding a cutout in the header is impossible, so usually I have to drop the rod from the attic down the hole, and hope I can land on top of the electical box. Most times if time is of the essence then I just cut another hole beside the box, and drop my new wires there. http://scorpiontheater.com/shoothouse.aspx -
Lets see if this manual will walk you through the setup procedure. http://scorpiontheater.com/Documents/AVTech_Guide_Networking_AVC7XX_Linksys_Info_2A_Line2.pdf I would just use the specific port rather than a range of ports. What kind of router do you have? Pick your router from here: http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm Use Gadspot IP camera as this is close to an AVTech DVR.

With the second DVR are you using the WAN IP address in the same buidling where the DVR is located, or are you going somewhere else, and trying to remote in? Where the second DVR is located go to a computer, and type in http://ipchicken.com/ Go to a remote site, and try to log in to your DVR with the number that IP chicken gave you with the browser. If you can log in to your DVR through the browser then you should see the Any Where Any Time Page. This means that everything is OK with your router, and we may have to look at the DYNDNS account. If you cannot remote in with the IP chicken then this will verify your router is the problem. You may have to hard reset your router for more then 30 seconds, and start all over setting up the router menus. -
MODEL AVTEC 760A - According to you, Good choice ?
scorpion replied to jean's topic in General Digital Discussion
Only you can answer that question. If the purchase is based on price then the AVTech is a great choice. If you are specifying D1 at 30FPS then the AVTech would not be the right choice. I am "forced" to sell the AVTech AVC 760A based on my clients "net worth", and what they are willing to spend. I love the AVTech products, and have used them for a long time. I recently purchased back a Comet 4 (a rebranded AVC 732). It is 5 years old, and still running! I like the AVC 760A for multi store owners such as sub shops ect as the business owner can view all of his stores with one computer at the same time. I have taken an AVC 760 (not an A) on purpose, and I slammed it on the floor, and it still worked. I do not know how, but it survived! Another reason why I like it is because it is easy for me to teach the common person how to use it. -
This setting would be determined by you. What is the size of your hard drive, and how long do you want your information to "sit" on your hard drive? If you have a 500GB hard drive, and you have it in CIF then you might, or you may come close to 25 days of storage depending on your settings, and the amount of activity in front of your cameras if you are using motion detection. If your house is on a very busy street then your DVR is going to record a lot of information to the hard drive. In the days past when hard drives were expensive then most people would choose CIF, and the rich would choose FRAME. The cost of hard drives are very inexpensive, and now you can have large hard drives, and run it at FRAME unless you would rather watch full motion. If quality of the picture is of the essence then you would choose FRAME. This will give you more of a snap shot of events rather then 30FPS. http://scorpiontheater.com/Documents/AVTech_Manual_English_AVC_760_782_V1.1.pdf

A box camera should be ok without the vent holes. Perhaps you may want to use a bullet camera?
-
You should be ok except when it is 90 degrees out in the summer time. You could cut a hole in the front wall, and the back wall at the top of the A frame, and cover the hole with screen material. You could even ad a fan if you need. What do you think?
-
Is there a download link for that version, or do you have that on a disk? Can you list that link? If you want the .0.0.9.9 then you can down load it here. This is a very recent release on this version. There was some problems on the .0.0.9.3 version. http://scorpiontheater.com/videoviewer.aspx ___________________________ I do not know if this may make a difference or not, but let me know: It may also have to have the remote account in the administrator mode, and not in a guest mode.

Hello! http://scorpiontheater.com/camlab.aspx C Mount Lens The flange back (distance from the surface where the lens comes in contact with the camera to the focal point) of C mount lens is 17.526mm (0.69 inch). This is the only difference between the C mount lens and CS mount lens. C mount lens, as well as CS mount, is 1 inch diameter with 32 threads per inch. A C ring (5mm spacer ring) is required when a C mount lens is to be mounted to a CS mount camera unless the camera has built-in flange-back adjusting ring. CS Mount Lens The flange back of CS mount lens is 12.5mm (0.492 inch). This is 5mm shorter than the C mount lens and you need a 5mm spacer ring (or, C-ring) when you mount a C mount lens to a CS mount camera. CS mount camera is always compatible with C or CS mount lens. C mount camera is not compatible with CS mount lens. Cost wise the CS mount lens is much less expensive since it uses fewer glass elements. Quality of image is the same. C mounts are becoming less, and less popular.

Do you have a "regular" IP address, or have you paid extra for a Static IP address from your internet service provider. Do not post it here, but go to this: http://ipchicken.com/ Write this number down that you see. Try logging in remotely (away from your house) with this number. The above is only going to work if you have the correct info in the DVR, and the correct port forward entered in to your router. You say that you do not have video over your lan from your DVR. This will be the first step of troubleshooting. Once you see video on your lan, then you can check your remote view.
