  1. I have a cure for your DVR and all of the problems. There is some moisture trapped in IC 38. We need to equalize the pressure. Do this: Step one: Remove wires, and take down DVR. You will need to have a second person help you. Step two: Hold the DVR above the water line in your toilet. While holding it out of the water, have your friend flush the handle. We need the swirling effect to create humidity. V V V V V V Step three: Let go of the damn thing, and buy another one as this one has some serious demons!!!! LOL! Sorry!
  2. It should work! You can email me at sales@scorpiontheater.com with your IP address, port number, and if it is in CIF, or FRAME. I can let you know if it works outside of your LAN. Make a temp account so that you can erase me later for privacy. What do you think?

We are opening up a can of worms with this topic!! I had a guy yell at me about a bad DVR that I sold him. He told me what he wanted, and I delivered big time! He was mad because it did not look like watching a DVD! I showed him that you can count every leaf on a tree if this was outside. He needed good facial recognition as this was in a hallway of surgical area of a hospital. He did not like the snap shot effect! There are too many variables with camera selection, DVR selection, wiring selection, lens selection, compression format, and budget issues. I do not read the specs of products. I just plug them in. If it works, then it works, if it does not then it does not. Some equipment may suck in one environment, and sail in another environment. Interesting!
  11. WoW! I new problem! Here is another one that I have not seen. I would suggest doing a hard reset, then do a factory menu reset to default. I know this is not going help, but it may clear any "stuck" register, or a buffer. The Vista problem is interesting as if it was just the home prem then I would think that there would be a few posts coming in about this issue. There may have been a few posts, and we may have written them off as port issue, or what ever based on the poster's description. Things that make you go Hmmmmm!

    microphones

Professional series microphones require power for them to work. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantom_power http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condenser_microphone#Condenser.2C_capacitor_or_electrostatic_microphones http://www.mackie.com/pdf/arcane_mysteries.pdf Inexpensive microphones do not need power. The microphone sends the audio signal to a device such as an amplifier, tape deck, digital recorder, mixer, and other devices. Here is a DVR microphone that requires 12 volts dc to operate. http://eclipsecctv.com/ECL-MIC_microphone.html What is it that you are trying to do?

  15. I have not worked with Vista that much, so I am in the dark as much as you are. I am interested in finding out what the deal may be. It might be an Active x issue, but I do not truely know. You could try deleting temp internet file, and the refresh your browser and then reconnect with the DVR. You should get the Active X download. I doubt this will cure it, but then you have done everything else possible. Weird! Sounds like a bandwith issue to me. What do you think?
  16. Hey RickA, did you even notice Rory was missing?? Hey! Rory! Glad to see you around again!! I am sad to hear that you had other things to deal with. It must be a good story if it pulled you away from the forum! Glad to see things are back on track! Just when I was getting used to being the "big dog" on the block!
  17. I guess I will not discuss my new Lamborgini, new top floor beach front condo, diesel pusher motor home, cigarette racing top gun 38 footer, and the gold plated AR 15.
  18. I am a not an IT guy, so I will defer to those who specialize in that area. I would probably get a product like Sonic Wall to give you a fire wall. What do you think?

  25. No. I do not know what to say to relate the firmware issue. How about I go way off with an analogy: You have some kind of a computer problem. Switching from Windows XP to Vista will not solve your problem because you still have a computer problem. Yes firmware may fix your problem, but your DVR should work with an older firmware before it will work with a newer firmware. I do not know if there is a chip that has failed inside your DVR that is giving you this problem or what it may be. Is the DVR under warranty, and can you take it back for an exchange?
